Utah State at Air Force: 9/18/21 College Football Picks and Predictions

The Utah State Aggies and Air Force Falcons face off on Saturday in a Week 2 college football showdown at Falcon Stadium. These two teams last faced off in December of 2020 and Air Force won 35-7. 

The Air Force Falcons have gotten out to a fast start to their season winning games over Lafayette and Navy. In the last game against the Midshipmen, the defense was elite giving up only three points and that led to the 23-3 victory. Air Force runs the option attack and they are averaging 273 yards per game on the ground. The top rusher in the last game was Brad Roberts and he finished with 29 carries for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Air Force is averaging only 49.5 yards per game through the air. In this game Air Force is going to need to control the time of possession with the offense. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Utah State Aggies who also have a 2-0 record. The Aggies opened up theri season with a three-point victory over Washington State, and followed that up with a 48-24 victory over North Dakota. Utah State is an elite offensive team and they are averaging 531 yards per game. Under center for Utah State is Logan Bonner and in the last game he completed 21 of his 33 passes for 390 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. In this game, if Utah State wants to win this game they need to slow down the option attack.
