Ball State Cardinals Betting Preview
The Cardinals got off to a rough start this year, losing four of their first five games versus Miami, Central Michigan, James Madison, and Western Michigan. Ball State went 2-3 over the next five outings with losses to Vanderbilt, Miami-OH, and Buffalo.
On Saturday versus Bowling Green, Ball State was down by just three points at the break. The Cardinals were outscored 28-6 from there, however, and lost 38-13. Kadin Semonza threw for 211 yards and two scores, while Vaughn Pemberton led a lackluster rush on 29 yards from five totes.
Ohio Bobcats Betting Preview
Over on the Bobcats’ side, they were 4-2 over their first six with wins over South Alabama, Morgan State, Akron, and Central Michigan. After a loss to Miami-OH, Ohio took out Buffalo, Kent State, Eastern Michigan, and Toledo in the next four.
Matched up against Toledo last Wednesday, the Bobcats scored 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to secure a 24-7 victory. Parker Navarro logged 129 pass yards with an interception and two rush TDs. Anthony Tyus had 125 rush yards and a score on 33 carries.

Ball State vs Ohio Prediction
I’ll lean toward Ohio. The Bobcats took a while to get going on offense in the Toledo game, but their D more than made up for it. Ohio gave up just 212 total yards (173 passing), 4.2 yards per play, and nine first downs in the win, bagging three takeaways (all fumbles) along the way. On offense, it was the rush game (238 yards) that did most of the work. It was the lowest points total during this four-game stretch, though (35 or more in the other three).
As for Ball State, on Saturday they managed just 254 yards (211 passing) on Bowling Green while giving up 362 (259 passing) on the other side. The Cardinals have been below 22 points in three of their last five games for a 1-4 stretch in the record books. If Ohio can keep Ball State in check like that on Saturday the Bobcats should have the cover.
