South Korea has played three other friendlies in recent months: a 5-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago, a 1-0 loss to Austria, and a 4-0 loss to Ivory Coast. 

South Korea has qualified for the last 10 World Cups and they have made the Round of 16 in two of the last three. South Korea did finish fourth at the 2002 World Cup, which was their highest finish. Czechia comes into this World Cup ranked 41st in the latest official FIFA rankings and they are coming off of a 3-1 win over Guatemala in their last match. In that win, Czechia scored in the 11th minute, but they were tied at one at halftime, before scoring two goals in the last 20 minutes for the win. Czechia recorded 21 total shots, six shots on target, and had 65% of the possession. Schick, Chory, and Visinsky had the three goals in the win. Czechia has played in one other friendly in recent weeks, which was a 2-1 win over Kosovo. 

Czechia has qualified for just one World Cup since 1990, which was in 2006, where they didn’t advance out of the Group Stage. In 2006, Czechia defeated the United States 3-0, but lost to Ghana and Italy by a score of 2-0 in each game. In World Cup qualifying, Czechia finished second in their group to advance to the knockout round, where they beat Ireland and Denmark in penalty kicks to qualify. 

South Korea vs Czechia Prediction 

Czechia comes into this matchup looking to make some noise after missing out on the last few World Cups, but they need to make sure they get at least a point in this match. South Korea has plenty of World Cup experience over the last 30+ years and they have allowed one goal or fewer in four of their last five matches. This is a very interesting matchup to me, as I feel like both teams are extremely even, but I think Czechia has some good value. Czechia got through a very tough qualifying tournament and I think they are the slightly better team, so I will take them and the plus money here.
