Detroit Pistons Betting Preview
The Detroit Pistons didn’t play at their usual level in the series opener and got burned by 11 points at home, but they will be feeling much better now after blowing past the Magic in a 98-83 home win in Game 2 on Wednesday. Cade Cunningham led the team with 27 points, six rebounds and 11 assists, Tobias Harris tallied 16 points with 11 rebounds and two blocks while Jalen Duren chipped in with 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 46 percent from the field and just six of 26 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and managed just 46 points in the first half to keep pace with the Magic early on, but the Pistons were always in control after dominating the third quarter by 38-16 to lead by as many as 27 points at one stage.
Orlando Magic Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic must have been brimming with confidence following their big win in Game 1, but now they will just have to settle for getting the split on the road after getting routed on Wednesday. Jalen Suggs led the team with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists, Paolo Banchero added 18 points with six rebounds and eight assists while Franz Wagner chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Magic shot 33 percent from the field and eight of 32 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Pistons in a tight contest until the third quarter where the Pistons opened with a 33-6 run to put the game to bed early. Desmond Bane had a rough game of just 12 points on two of 11 shooting, Anthony Black scored just five points on one of six shooting off the bench while Wendell Carter Jr scored just three points.
Detroit v Orlando Free Prediction
The Pistons needed to respond after dropping the first game of the series and they did just that with a dominant third quarter in Game 2 to secure the much needed win at home. The Magic accomplished their mission of stealing home-court advantage but now the pressure is on them to bounce back after scoring just 83 points in an ugly loss on Wednesday. The Magic are only shooting 27 percent from the 3-point line so far in this series which really makes it easy for the elite defense of the Pistons but that could improve at the Kia Center where the role players will feel more comfortable. This should be a close one, but while I expect to see a better performance from the Magic, I still expect the Pistons to take care of business with a narrow win and cover on the road.
