Wofford vs Tennessee Prediction
You’ll make money on Wofford over the course of the season, as it’s a quality program that produces diamonds in the rough and usually wins games. However, Wofford had significant roster turnover, and this isn’t a spot to find its footing. This is easily the most talented Tennessee team we’ve seen in recent memory and should make a deep run in the big dance. While guys have to build chemistry and fine-tune things, the talent gap between these teams should be enough.
If Tennessee is going to reach the heights it’s trying to reach, it’s key to start the season off right and get a blowout win under its belt. Get the juices flowing and set the tone. Thick number, but the Vols are fantastic on paper. I’ll lay the points with the Vols.
Wofford Terriers Betting Preview
Wofford won 19 games last season and enters the second year under coach Kevin Giltner. Wofford has made the big dance twice since the 2015-16 season.
Wofford returns a couple of key players in Chace Watley, who is a preseason All-SoCon selection and will be the leader of this team. Brian Sumpter and Luke Flynn are the other two noteworthy returners for the Terriers. Evan Ramsey is a seven-footer transfer who adds depth to the paint, while Chris Arias is an experienced guard coming over from Jacksonville. Some roster turnover for Wofford, but this program remains a factor in the SoCon and is always a tough out at home with a great crowd. You can never count out Wofford, and this year is no different.
Tennessee Volunteers Betting Preview
Tennessee won 25 games last season and enters year 12 under coach Rick Barnes. The Vols have made the big dance in each of the last six seasons.
Tennessee lost nearly its entire team from last season, which led to hitting the portal hard. The key additions include Juke Harris from Wake Forest, Dai Dai Ames from Cal, and Tyler Lundblade from Belmont. Chemistry with the transfers will be critical early, but the talent is there, and this group has clear expectations. Tennessee is a legit threat to win the SEC this season and could make a deep NCAA Tournament run. Pressure is on Barnes to make things work and get this program over the top after flirting with national title appearances lately.
