New Mexico State Aggies Betting Preview
The Aggies had a good run going back in January, but it’s been a real struggle for the team otherwise. New Mexico State opened on a 4-6 run, beating New Mexico Highlands, Utah Tech, Texas A&M-CC, and New Mexico in that time. A win streak over Southern Utah, Northern New Mexico, University of the Southwest, Sam Houston, Louisiana Tech, UTEP, and FIU came next, then a 2-6 stretch. The wins at that time were over Middle Tennessee and Florida International. Otherwise, it was losses to Liberty, Kennesaw State, Jacksonville State, Western Kentucky, UTEP, and Liberty again. The result was a 13-12 overall run through the first 25 games.Â
In the Jacksonville State road rematch on Thursday, the Aggies scored 35 in the first half and 26 in the second during a 61-52 win. Lead scorer Peter Filipovity came off the bench for a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds.Â
Kennesaw State Owls Betting Preview
Over on the Kennesaw State side, they’ve had a pretty choppy year but have managed to stay above the .500 mark so far. The Owls posted a 7-5 stretch in their first dozen outings, taking losses to Cal Baptist, UC Irvine, Kent State, Santa Clara, and San Jose State in that time. A 5-2 run came next with losses to Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky among wins over Brewton-Parker, Jacksonville State, Sam Houston, LA Tech, and New Mexico State, then a 3-4 run over the next seven. Those wins were over FIU, Western Kentucky, and LA Tech. Otherwise, it was a quartet of losses to UTEP, Liberty, Middle Tennessee, and Sam Houston in that time, giving the Owls a 15-11 record through 26 games.Â
Matched up against UTEP in the home rematch on Thursday, the Owls jumped out to a 47-33 halftime edge. Kennesaw State cruised from there on a 40-36 run and took the eventual victory 83-73 at KSU Convocation Center. Leading the charge was Adrian Wooley with 21 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Braedan Lue added 18 points with six rebounds and three blocks, while Frankquon Sherman came off the bench for 13 points, four rebounds, and two steals.Â

New Mexico State vs Kennesaw State PredictionÂ
I’ll probably just stick with Kennesaw State here. On Thursday versus UTEP, the Owls had a pretty good outing against a solid team. Kennesaw State ended up shooting a nice 50.9 percent from the field with a 32-30 rebounding edge and 20 team assists. The Owls did cough up 14 turnovers for 12 Miners points, but that was just about the only thing worth complaining over. Kennesaw State has now won four of the last six, scoring a nice 69 or more points in all six of them.Â
These teams last met up on January 23 in a 69-56 road win for Kennesaw State. In that one, the Owls posted 42.6 percent from the field with a 40-31 rebounding edge and 10 turnovers for 15 Aggies points. New Mexico State shot pretty poorly on the other side, with just 30.8 percent from the floor. Kennesaw State should be pretty comfortable in the home rematch. I’d like to see a slightly higher shooting percentage this time, though.Â
