Le Moyne Dolphins Betting Preview

It’s been a rough season so far for the Dolphins. They’ve only been able to post consecutive wins once. Le Moyne kicked things off with a 5-8 run, featuring losses to Syracuse, Cal State Northridge, UConn, St. Bonaventure, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UT Rio Grande Valley, Army, and Binghamton in that time. Since then the Dolphins are just 2-8 in their last 10 outings. The two wins came over Mercyhurst and Stonehill. Otherwise, it was losses to Notre Dame, Niagara, Long Island University, Fairleigh Dickinson, Chicago State, Central Connecticut, Fairleigh Dickinson again and Wagner, giving the Dolphins a 7-16 record through 23 games so far.

In the Wagner matchup over the weekend, the Dolphins kicked off with a 32-28 run in the first half. Le Moyne was outpaced 45-29 from there however, resulting in a rough loss 73-61 in the end. Leading the team in the losing effort was AJ Dancler with 24 points, two assists and one rebound. Dwayne Koroma added 14 points with four rebounds, two assists and three steals as the only other player on the team to finish in double-figures during the defeat.

St. Francis PA Red Flash Betting Preview

Over on the Saint Francis PA side, they’ve had some similar issues in the win column this year. The Flash has just one instance of consecutive victories as well. Saint Francis PA went 4-6 in their first 10 outings, losing to Dayton, Clemson, Penn State, Mount St. Mary’s, Georgetown, and Radford in that time. The Red Flash would lose to Niagara, Maryland, Robert Morris, Central Connecticut, and Stonehill (with a lone win over Franciscan University) in their next six outings. Since then it’s been a 3-4 stretch. The wins were over Mercyhurst, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Long Island U. The losses otherwise came courtesy of Long Island U, Wagner (twice), and Mercyhurst. The result so far has been an 8-15 run through 23 games this year thus far.

Matched up against Mercyhurst last Thursday, the Red Flash came out of the locker room with a 29-23 deficit. St. Francis PA got slightly better from there on a 35-33 run but still took the loss at the end 62-58. Daemar Kelly paced the team with 14 points and three rebounds. Both Valentino Pinedo (five rebounds) and Riley Parker (seven rebounds; three assists) had 12 points each. Jeremy Clayvill chipped in with five points on 1-of-6 shooting in 23 minutes.

Why the Saint Francis Red Flash will win

  • Le Moyne has lost each of its last six road games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Saint Francis has won six of its last seven night games at DeGol Arena against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Le Moyne has lost the first half in seven of its last eight night games.

Why the Le Moyne Dolphins will win

  • Saint Francis has lost 12 of its last 15 games against Conference opponents.

Le Moyne vs St. Francis PA Prediction

I’ll take St. Francis PA I suppose. There’s very little to get excited about here though, seeing as how both teams are struggling mightily so far. The Red Flash shot pretty poorly (38.9 percent) in their latest defeat versus Mercyhurst, but did a solid job on the boards (38) and held the opposition to just 38.6 percent shooting on the other side. The 13 turnovers and meager six team assists didn’t help matters, though. St. Francis PA has given up fewer than 69 points in consecutive games (both losses) but they’ve also been below 67 points themselves in both of those outings. Le Moyne should be a manageable opponent, but I’m probably staying away from this one.

Andrew Jett's Pick: St. Francis PA Red Flash -3
