Drexel Dragons Betting Preview
Drexel began the season on a pretty solid 4-2 run. The pair of losses were versus Temple and La Salle. Otherwise, it won over the Georgian Court, Colgate, Fairfield, and Fordham. Following a 1-2 run featuring a win over Chicago State between losses to Fort Wayne and Bryant, Drexel beat Pennsylvania, Albany, and Howard in succession. The Dragons’ most recent outing was another loss to Penn State, however, giving the team an 8-5 record.
Matched up against the Nittany Lions way back on December 21, the Dragons were within eight points at 37-29 by halftime. Drexel didn’t get any closer in the second—but they also didn’t fall too far behind—on a 38-35 run for a loss of 75-64. Yame Butler was the only Dragons starter in double-figures with 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals. Kevon Vanderhorst led the bench players with 14 points, two rebounds, and two assists.
Campbell Camels Betting Preview
Campbell kicked off the 2024-25 season with a 3-2 run featuring wins over Pfeiffer, Newbery, and Navy alongside losses to Virginia and St. Francis PA. The Camels have only won two games since that November 17 win over the Midshipmen. Those came versus Green Bay and the Citadel. Otherwise, it’s been losses to Ohio State, Evansville, Coastal Carolina, Morgan State, Longwood, and North Carolina for a 5-8 overall record this year.
In the North Carolina game on Sunday, the Camels were in trouble after the first half, facing a 40-29 deficit. Campbell kept a better pace in the second half 57-52, bringing the team to a loss of 97-81 in the end. Colby Duggan had a great game in the defeat with 32 points, four assists, and three rebounds. Jasin Sinani added 15 points and two assists, while Cam Gregory scored 14 points with four rebounds. Bragi Gudmundsson topped the bench players with nine points.

Drexel vs Campbell Prediction
I’ll lean toward Drexel here. The Dragons shot well from the floor in their loss to Penn State, hitting 46.4 percent overall. The trouble is, Drexel also hit just 5-of-23 (21.7 percent) from 3-point range and got out-rebounded 40-31. The 13 turnovers for 12 Nittany Lions points didn’t help, either. Still, it wasn’t a bad showing against a pretty darn good Penn State squad. Drexel is 3-1 in their last four games, but they’ve been below 69 points in three of those.
As for Campbell, they shot well against North Carolina as well (44.4 percent), but also got outfoxed on the glass 37-25 by a bigger and faster opponent. That makes 76 or more options in three of the last four games for the Camels. That said, Campbell is also giving up quite a bit on the other side. They’ve surrendered 77 or more points in three straight games to Morgan State, Longwood, and North Carolina. Drexel should have some openings in this matchup, which kicks off a road trip that will last until January 11 when the team is back home against Towson. If the Dragons can come out of this one with a good showing in an impressive win, it’ll carry over some momentum in the upcoming games versus North Carolina A&T and Stony Brook.
