William & Mary Tribe Betting Preview
The Tribe opened up the 2024-25 campaign on a rough run, but they’ve since been able to right the proverbial ship in the record column. William & Mary lost six of their first nine games, beating only Dickinson PA, Norfolk State, and Georgia Southern with losses otherwise versus Radford, Winthrop, North Carolina Central, NC State, App State, and Old Dominion in that time. Since then the Tribe have been looking much better with a 7-1 run. The lone loss in that time came versus VCU. Otherwise, it was wins over Virginia-Lynchburg, Richmond, Navy, Hofstra, Stony Brook, Elon, and North Carolina A&T for a 10-7 opening run through the first 17 games.
Matched up against North Carolina A&T over the weekend, the Tribe came out of the break with a 42-38 edge. William & Mary was outscored 40-39 the rest of the way but managed to hold on for the victory 81-78 in the end. Tops in scoring was Noah Collier with 22 points, six boards, two assists, one steal, and one block. Gabe Dorsey added 18 points with seven rebounds, while Keller Boothby put up 12 points with four rebounds and one assist.
Hampton Pirates Betting Preview
Over on the Hampton side, they had a good run going in November and December, but otherwise, it’s been quite a struggle in the record column this year. The Pirates kicked off the season with a 3-5 stretch, taking wins over Mid-Atlantic Christian, UMBC, and Duquesne alongside losses to George Washington, Providence, Norfolk State, Boise State, and High Point. After a five-game win streak over North Carolina A&T, Apprentice School, Regent, Loyola Maryland, and Howard, the Pirates took losses to Charleston, Elon, and Campbell before stopping the bleeding with a win over Delaware. The result has been a 9-8 run this year.
In the Delaware game back on Saturday, the Pirates jumped out to a 45-35 halftime edge. Hampton was outscored 42-38 the rest of the way but held on for the victory 83-77 in the end. Leading the way was George Beale with 18 points, four rebounds and two assists. Trevor Smith put up 16 points off the bench, and Kyrese Mullen doubled off the bench with his 14 points, 15 boards, and two assists. Tyler Rice added 10 points and two boards as well.

William & Mary vs Hampton Prediction
I’m going to stick with Hampton, but you could call this one either way. The Pirates got back to business in their last matchup versus Delaware, following a string of sub-par efforts. Hampton shot 48.3 percent from the field against the Hens, notching a nice 45-21 rebounding edge. The 83 points halted a string of 68 or fewer in three straight games (all losses). The Pirates have scored 76 or more in each of their last six wins, so it’ll be important for them to hang a nice total here as well.
As for William & Mary, they’re looking good on the scoreboard over this 7-1 stretch. The Tribe have 74 or more points in all seven wins, and 70 or more in all eight games. Hampton is really going to have to press the issue on offense to keep a good pace here, but I think it’s doable at home if the Pirates play to their capabilities.
