Stony Brook Seawolves Betting Preview
Stony Brook has had quite a difficult campaign so far this year. They’ve yet to notch consecutive wins, and the Ls continue to pile up. The Seawolves went 2-2 over their first quartet with wins versus Central Michigan and Saint Joseph’s Long Island, then fell to Yale, Columbia, Brown, Norfolk State, and Air Force in the next five. After a 2-1 run that featured a loss to Marist in between wins over Rider and Maine, Stony Brook hit another losing streak. The last five games have all been defeats at the hands of Albany, Monmouth, William & Mary, Drexel, and Northeastern for a rough 4-13 overall record so far this season.
In the Northeastern game over the weekend, the Seawolves found themselves with a 39-26 deficit by halftime. Stony Brook fought back in the second half to make a game of it with a 40-31 run but still lost 70-66 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was CJ Luster, who scored 22 points and four rebounds with one assist. Nick Woodard came off the bench to provide 16 points with six boards, two steals, and two blocks in 24 minutes of work, the only other player on the team to finish in double-figures during the defeat.
Delaware Blue Hens Betting Preview
Over on the Delaware side, they opened up the season on a pretty decent run but they’ve been pretty spotty as of late. The Hens went 7-4 over their first 11 games, taking losses to Bucknell, Bryant, Vermont, and Duquesne. The wins otherwise were over Robert Morris, Iona, Yale, Rider, Delaware State, Chestnutt Hill, and Misericordia. Since then it’s been a rough 2-4 run for Delaware. They’ve beaten only Monmouth and North Carolina A&T in that time. Otherwise, it’s been losses versus Saint Peter’s, St. John’s, Northeastern, and Hampton for a 9-8 overall run through 17 games thus far.
Matched up against Hampton back on Saturday, the Hens came out of the locker room sporting a 10-point deficit of 45-35. Delaware got better from there on a 42-38 run but still ended up losing 83-77 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was John Camden with 20 points, two boards, two steals, and five assists. Cavan Reilly notched 18 points with three rebounds and three assists, while both Erik Time and Izaiah Pasha posted 11 points apiece with a combined seven assists and five rebounds.

Stony Brook vs Delaware Prediction
I’m going to stay with Delaware I suppose. The Hens shot quite well from the field (52.5 percent) in their latest loss to Hampton and committed just six turnovers. The major issue was the rebounding as Delaware was outmuscled on the glass 45-21 (16-4 offensive) on the way to the defeat. The good news is that Delaware is scoring well lately with 76 or more points in five straight outings. The bad news is that they’ve given up 76 or more points in four of those five for a 2-3 record in that time.
Stony Brook should serve as a manageable opponent for the Hens, however. The Seawolves have posted fewer than 67 points in three of the last four (all losses) and they’ve given up 70 or more points in five of the last six. If Delaware can rebound a little better here they should be okay.
