The Flames have only one blemish on the card so far. That one came November 16 in a 77-74 loss to Florida Atlantic. Otherwise, Liberty has taken out Valparaiso, Carolina, Seattle, Charleston, and Louisiana in their first six outings.

I’ll lean toward Kansas State. You could certainly make a case either way, though. The Wildcats demolished George Washington in their last outing, shooting a nice 51.8 percent from the field with 42 rebounds and 19 team assists. Kansas State hit just 16-of-27 (59.3 percent) from the line, however, and coughed up 14 turnovers. There’s plenty of room for improvement in those regards.

As for Liberty, they hit a stellar 67.3 percent from the field with a 33-18 rebounding edge on Friday versus Louisiana. The Flames have scored 68 or more points in five of six games this year, so this one should be a big total if both teams are on point. In the end, I like Kansas State to pull off the dramatic cover/win, though.
