Over on the Kent State, they’ve started the year with some tough matchups. The Flashes lost to Pittsburgh 55-24 in their opener, then lost a tough one to St. Francis PA 23-17 in game two. Kent State was then drilled by Tennessee 71-0 on September 14. 

Matched up against Penn State in their most recent outing, the Flashes were demolished. Kent State gave up double-digit points in each of the final three quarters in a 56-0 loss. JD Sherrod completed just two passes for 18 yards, and Ayden Harris led the rush with just 20 yards.

I’ll go with Eastern Michigan. Probably not touching this one, though. The Eagles looked good against a struggling St. Francis PA team last weekend with 327 total yards (203 passing) and zero turnovers. EMU had 10 penalties for 86 yards overall but posted some nice numbers on defense with 154 yards allowed (111 passing) and three takeaways.

As for Kent State, they were never going to compete with Penn State last weekend—and they didn’t. The Flashes notched just 67 total yards (18 passing), six first downs, and just one of 11 third-down conversions. This one won’t be such a difficult matchup but I don’t think Kent State covers.
