I worry for Fritz here. This is arguably one of the toughest first rounds for any seed. Mpetshi Perricard only has a handful of wins in Grand Slam tournaments, but he was very impressive when he competed on his debut at Wimbledon last year. His game is tailor-made for grass, with a serve that many players on tour would envy and movement that defies his height.

Fritz is unlikely to get plenty of chances to break the Mpetshi Perricard serve, and this could easily stretch to four or five sets. This could get uncomfortable for the fifth seed. That said, GMP winning at least two sets here is massive value.
