Novak Djokovic will face Carlos Alcaraz in the 2024 Wimbledon men’s final. The match is scheduled for Sunday, July 14, 2024. Here’s our Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz prediction.
Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz Preview
Novak Djokovic will play in his 10th Wimbledon final. He is pursuing an all-time record of 25 Grand Slams in singles. Victory on Sunday will tie Roger Federer’s record haul of eight Wimbledons (most of any man) in what will be the 37th Grand Slam final of his career, which is a record in the Open Era.
To get to the final, Djokovic needed to recover from knee surgery in under a month to play the event and defeated the in-form Lorenzo Musetti in Friday’s semifinal in straight sets. In the victory, which took almost three hours, Djokovic won 75% of first-serve points (52/69) and 44% of second-serve points (15/34). Overall, he compiled 34 winners to 31 unforced errors.
Carlos Alcaraz, meanwhile, has secured the world number three ranking after dismissing Daniil Medvedev in the first semifinal on Friday. The Spaniard will be back on Sunday to try to defend his title in a rematch against Djokovic.
Alcaraz needed two hours and 55 minutes to take down Medvedev in four sets in a match that took 42 games to decide. He hammered six aces to two double faults. Alcaraz won 73% first-serve points (47/64) and 61% second-serve points (30/49). Alcaraz planted 55 winners to 37 unforced errors.
Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz Head-To-Head

• This will be their third Grand Slam meeting. Currently tied at 1-1.
• Djokovic won their French Open bout last summer in four sets before Alcaraz exacted revenge at Wimbledon.
Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz Prediction
For the second year in a row, we’re getting a rematch in the Wimbledon men’s final, almost nine years to the day since Djokovic and Federer met in back-to-back finals.
This time, the advantage is with the Serb’s opponent when it comes to physical superiority. At 21, Alcaraz appears to be the face of sport for the next decade and beyond, and Djokovic is convinced his Spanish opponent will win many more Grand Slams in the future.
Alcaraz’s offense has been the shining light of his run to the final during the fortnight. However, Djokovic’s ability to hang out in rallies can complicate life for the defending champion. And we can’t overstate Djokovic’s resilience after his miraculous recovery from knee surgery in less than a month to play and advance into the final, albeit having benefitted from a less taxing draw.
With that said, Alcaraz is doing tremendous work, outplaying his opponents in crucial moments even when he falters, an attribute that you can associate with Djokovic at his peak form. The outcome can definitely go either way, and the smart money is to back the over 3.5 sets in the match, with a slight edge to Alcaraz in ML.
