He’s missed quite a few tournaments this year and saw his ranking fall outside the top 30. But a run to the Geneva final helped Hurkacz settle in the 28th spot this week. Hurkacz has a 7-3 record on clay this season, with a quarterfinal run in Rome among his best results. Hurkacz is the 30th seed at the French Open, where he will play in his eighth main draw. The 28-year-old has reached the second week of the clay-court Grand Slam twice in his career, but has lost in the first round three times.
