Jannik Sinner and Alexander Bublik meet in the quarterfinals of the 2025 French Open at Roland Garros. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4. Here’s our Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik prediction. This preview will also include a Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik pick.
Jannik Sinner Preview
Jannik Sinner’s progress into the quarterfinals of the French Open was never in doubt. The top seed overpowered Andrey Rublev in another majestic performance. Sinner won 6-1, 6-3, 6-4 in exactly two hours. Sinner compiled 25 winners and 19 unforced errors during the match. He accounted for five aces. Sinner landed 62% of first serves and won 81% of first serve points (34/42). He won 77% of second serve points (20/26) and saved all three breakpoints he faced.
Sinner had beaten Arthur Rinderknech, Richard Gasquet, and Jiri Leheck in the first week. He has not dropped a set in Paris and has only lost one match this season, and that was to Alcaraz in the Rome Masters final. Sinner has won nine of his past 10 matches on clay. Last year, he reached the semifinals at Roland Garros in what remains a career-best run in this tournament. Will he reach the same stage this week?
Alexander Bublik Preview
Alexander Bublik reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal with an incredible four-set win over fifth seed Jack Draper. What made the win even more special was how Bublik fought from a set down on his least favorite surface against a top-five player. The Kazakh had earlier caused one of the shocks of the first week when he beat Alex de Minaur in five and came up trumps again in what is surely his best clay-court swing of his career.
Bublik has won 15 of 20 matches on the dirt this season and lifted the title at the Turin Challenger before coming to Paris. He will reclaim his spot in the Top 50 regardless of his quarterfinal result against Jannik Sinner.
Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik Head-To-Head
Sinner leads Bublik 3-1 in the head-to-head. This will be their first meeting on clay.
Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik Prediction
This almost feels like a typo of some sort. Bublik’s name in the French Open quarterfinals is right up there with the most shocking tennis moments of the last decade. But it’s deserved, and that’s the beauty of this sport and Grand Slams.
Clay-court tennis calls for attrition and patience, but Bublik brings artistry and some flair that few would dare to try on a surface as demanding as this, and his decision-making has been spectacular, to say the least. Bublik hit a remarkable 37 drop shots against Draper, which turned out to be perfectly-timed counterpoints. You’d assume he’ll need to better that number to make this quarterfinal competitive, and I wouldn’t put it past him to do so. Bublik leaves no promises and is as unpredictable as they come. But this is a bridge too far for him to cross, although he’s left his mark in this tournament. Sinner is nailed on for the semis.
