Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova meet in the fourth round of the 2025 French Open at Roland Garros. The match is scheduled for Sunday, June 1. Here’s our Aryna Sabalenka vs Amanda Anisimova prediction. This preview will also include an Aryna Sabalenka vs Amanda Anisimova pick.
Aryna Sabalenka Preview
Aryna Sabalenka has cruised into the French Open fourth round for the third year running. Sabalenka kicked off the tournament with a comfortable 6-1, 6-0 win against Kamilla Rakhimova. In the second set, she dropped four games in another straight sets dismissal of Jil Teichmann.
In the third round, Sabalenka passed her first major test against Serbian lefty Olga Danilovic. She raced to take the first set 6-2 in 35 minutes. In the second set, Sabalenka lost her early lead when Danilovic fought back to level at 3-3. But it was the Belarusian top seed who won three games in a row to complete the victory. Sabalenka compiled 17 winners and 15 unforced errors. She only accounted for one ace. Sabalenka landed 66% of first serves in play and won 63% of first serve points (24/38). Sabalenka won 55% of second serve points (11/20) and saved one of three breakpoints. The World No. 1 is now 14-2 on clay this season. She has not lost before the quarterfinals in any tournament since February.
Amanda Anisimova Preview
Amanda Anisimova is competing in her first Grand Slam as a top 20 player. And the American made it to the fourth round of the French Open for the first time since 2022. Anisimova started the tournament, beating Nina Stojanovic 6-3, 4-1 (retirement). In the second round, she quickly dismissed Viktorija Golubic 6-0, 6-2.
Anisimova then faced big-hitting Dane Clara Tauson in the third round. That one was a lot closer than her two previous rounds. Anisimova dug deep to register a 7-6, 6-4. She hit 38 winners and 36 unforced errors. That included two aces and two double faults. Anisimova landed 64% of first serves in play and won 67% of first serve points (32/48). She won 56% of second serve points (15/27) and saved five of seven breakpoints.
Aryna Sabalenka vs Amanda Anisimova Head-To-Head
Anisimova leads Sabalenka 5-2 in the head-to-head. In four clay meetings, Anisimova leads 3-1.
Aryna Sabalenka vs Amanda Anisimova Prediction
I’m going with the Anisimova set handicap here. She leads this head-to-head 5-2 and has consistently exposed Sabalenka’s weaknesses when they play. Anisimova is capable of breaking Sabalenka’s baseline control with her pacey, flat backhand that is hit with depth and precision. She’s also proficient in taking early cuts in return games, which might just put Sabalenka under huge pressure in her service games, and the double faults tally could rise significantly. I reckon Ansimova takes a set here, it’s the most realistic and value market in this match.
