In this article we will formulate a Predators vs Kings prediction for this NHL game on Thursday, April 2nd at crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this NHL matchup.

Nashville Predators Betting Preview

The Nashville Predators are 34-31-9 this season after they lost to the Lightning by a score of 3-2 in their last game. Nashville led 1-0 in the second period and they tied the game at three in the third, but they allowed a goal just two minutes after that for the loss. The Predators out shot TB by a total of 31-28, won 53.8% of the face-offs, and went 0-4 on the power play in the game. Nashville got goals from Forsberg and Kemell, while Annunen stopped 25 out of 28 shots, which was an .893 save percentage.

Prior to that game, Nashville lost to the Canadiens by a score of 4-1 and the Devils by a score of 4-2. The Predators have lost three games in a row and they are currently fifth in the Central standings with 77 points. Nashville has scored 2.92 goals per game and they have allowed 3.31 goals against per game, while also going 22.3% on the power play and 81.1% on the penalty kill this season. Filip Forsberg has led Nashville with 34 goals and 33 assists, while Ryan O’Reilly has added 24 goals and 42 assists. The projected starting goalie for Nashville is Juuse Saros, who is 26-20-7 with a 3.13 goals against average and an .894 save percentage this season.

Los Angeles Kings Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Kings are playing a late game against the Blues on Wednesday night, which is not included in this article. The Kings are 29-26-18 this year after they lost to the Mammoth by a score of 6-2 in their last game. Los Angeles cut the deficit to 2-1 late in the first period, but they allowed the next three goals in the loss. The Kings out shot Utah by a total of 31-28, won 53.2% of the face-offs, and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. Los Angeles got goals from Kempe and Kopitar, while Kuemper stopped 11 out of 16 shots and Forsberg stopped all 11 shots he faced.

Prior to that game, Los Angeles defeated the Canucks by a score of 4-0, but lost to the Flames by a score of 3-2 before that. The Kings have lost five of their last six games and they are currently fourth in the Pacific standings with 76 points. Los Angeles has scored 2.62 goals per game and they have allowed 2.93 goals against per game, while also going 17.5% on the power play and 74.8% on the penalty kill this season. Adrian Kempe has led LA with 27 goals and 35 assists, while Quinton Byfield has added 18 goals and 24 assists. The projected starting goalie for LA is Darcy Kuemper, who is 18-14-13 with a 2.67 goals against average and an .896 save percentage this year.

Predators vs Kings Prediction

Los Angeles comes into their game on Wednesday night really struggling over the last two weeks and they have scored two goals or fewer in three of their last five. The Kings are 10-17-8 at home this year, while the Predators are 14-16-6 on the road. Nashville has dropped three in a row and they have scored two regulation goals or fewer in four of their last five games. I don’t trust either offense in this matchup and with LA on a back to back, I like the under here.

David Racey's Pick: Under 5.5
