Detroit Lions Betting Preview
Detroit kicked off their 2025 campaign with a loss to the rival Green Bay Packers but then got it going on a four-game win streak. Those victories came courtesy of the Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. The Lions would then fall versus the Kansas City Chiefs before another win over the Buccaneers. In their next appearance, Detroit lost by three to the rival Minnesota Vikings in a home matchup. On the way to the loss, the Lions posted 10 team penalties, just 65 rush yards and 5-of-17 on third-down tries. The defense gave up 258 yards on the other side but held strong on third downs with a 4-of-12 success rate.
Last weekend in their most recent matchup versus the Washington Commanders, Detroit got back into the win column in a big way. The Lions were up 25-10 by the break and scored in every quarter on the way to a 44-22 road blowout win. QB Jared Goff went 25-of-33 for 320 yards and three scores while lead rusher Jahmyr Gibbs had 15 carries for 142 yards and two scores of his own. Jameson Williams caught six balls for 119 yards and a TD as the team’s leading receiver and Amon-Ra St. Brown had five catches for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview
Over on the Eagles’ side, this year Philly opened up the season with a four-game win streak, taking out the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angels Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Philly would fall to the Denver Broncos and New York Giants in the next pair before getting wins over the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants from there. In the rematch at home versus the Giants, the Eagles offense posted 427 yards with 276 rush yards, 7.5 yards per play and 23 first downs with no turnovers. The defense surrendered 246 yards on the other side with 13 first downs and a 5-of-12 success rate allowed on third-down tries.
On Monday evening in a road game versus Green Bay, the Eagles went into the final quarter with a 3-0 lead. Philadelphia traded touchdowns in that final frame and held on for a tight road victory 10-7 in the end. Jalen Hurts finished with a 15-of-26 line for 183 yards and the TD while lead rusher Saquon Barkley added 60 yards on 22 carries. DeVonta Smith put up 69 yards and a TD on four catches as the team’s leading receiver in the victory.

Lions vs Eagles Prediction
I might take a stab on the Lions here, but you could call it either way. Detroit didn’t have too many issues with a flailing Washington team in their last outing, notching 546 yards with 30 first downs, 8.0 yards per play, 226 rush yards, no turnovers and 5-of-10 on third-down tries. The defense held the Commanders in check pretty well with 288 yards, 5.6 yards per play, 14 first downs and 2-of-10 on third-down conversion attempts. Detroit hasn’t been the most consistent team during this 2-2 run, but they’ve managed to put up 24 or more points in three of those outings and can get the scoreboard going pretty well when they’re on point.
