The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics are set to face off in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 7:00 PM ET at TD Garden in Boston. The Knicks currently lead the series 1–0 after a thrilling 108–105 overtime victory in Game 1.

In Game 1, the Knicks overcame a 20-point deficit, with Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby each scoring 29 points. Mikal Bridges made a crucial steal in the final seconds of overtime to secure the win.  The Celtics struggled with their three-point shooting, hitting only 15 of 60 attempts, and committed 22 personal fouls. Despite the loss, the Celtics are favored by 10.5 points in Game 2, with an over/under set at 210.5 points.  Boston’s offense, led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, will look to improve its efficiency and capitalize on home-court advantage.

OG Anunoby Over 16.5 Points

OG Anunoby delivered a strong offensive performance during the 2024–25 NBA season with the New York Knicks, averaging 18.0 points per game over 74 regular-season appearances. He complemented his scoring with 4.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game, while shooting 47.6% from the field, 37.2% from three-point range, and 81.0% from the free-throw line. He’s stepped up in this postseason so far, scoring 19+ points in 5 of the Knicks’ 7 playoff games, and is coming off a 29-point performance in game 1 of this series. He was a vital aspect of the Knicks picking up a win in game 1, and I think the  Knicks continue to utilize him. 

Derrick White Over 14.5 Points

White is averaging 16.4 points per game, marking his highest scoring average to date. White also contributed 4.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game, showcasing his well-rounded skill set. His shooting efficiency remained solid, with a field goal percentage of 44.2%, three-point shooting at 38.4%, and free-throw accuracy of 83.9%. White continues to be a dog in the postseason and is still undervalued by oddsmakers. We’ve seen White score 16+ points in all but 1 of Boston’s postseason games so far. If oddsmakers are going to continue to set his line this low, we have to take advantage.

Josh Hart is averaging 9.6 rebounds per game, ranking 13th in the league and leading all guards in this category. His rebounding prowess was a key component of the Knicks’ success, as he consistently contributed on both ends of the floor. He’s secured 10+ rebounds in 4 of the Knicks’ last 5 games. He secured 11 rebounds in game 1 of this series. This Knicks team isn’t very deep and relies heavily on their starters to play a ton of minutes. Hart will have plenty of opportunities to collect boards in this one.
