The Seattle Mariners and the Pittsburgh Pirates will meet on Tuesday night in the opening game of a three‑game interleague series at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Seattle Mariners Betting Preview

The Seattle Mariners enter Tuesday’s contest with a 40–39 overall record (1st in the American League West) and an 18-20 mark on the road. The Mariners offense has been inconsistent to this point in the season. Through 69 games played in 2026, Seattle has compiled 326 runs scored (21st in MLB), 98 doubles, 98 home runs and a .232 team batting average which ranks a rather low 27th in Major League Baseball.

The Mariners arrive at tomorrow’s game in below average form. Seattle has lost five of the team’s last eight games played this season, including a 6–2 loss to the Boston Red Sox three days ago.

Seattle will turn to right hander George Kirby in this contest. In fifteen starts made this season, Kirby has compiled a 5–7 win‑loss record, a 4.10 ERA, a 1.31 WHIP and 79 strikeouts, while allowing 97 hits and 21 walks in 90 innings pitched. Kirby will look to build on his recent strong performances on the mound in tomorrow’s matchup with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Turning our attention to the Seattle offense, the Mariners lineup features outfielder Julio Rodriguez and first baseman Josh Naylor. Rodriguez has amassed a .248 batting average, 14 home runs, 26 walks, 37 RBIs and a .742 OPS. Naylor has compiled a .250 batting average, 8 home runs, 9 doubles, 24 walks, 33 RBIs and a .678 OPS.

Pittsburgh Pirates Betting Preview

The Pittsburgh Pirates enter Tuesday night’s matchup with a 39–39 overall record (4th in the National League Central) and a 20–19 mark at home. Pittsburgh has played competitive baseball recently, winning three of the team’s last five games, including a dominant 12–4 victory over the Athletics last week.

Pittsburgh will start right hander Mitch Keller in tomorrow’s game. In fifteen starts made this season, Keller has compiled a 5–4 record, a 5.25 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP and 65 strikeouts, while allowing 79 hits and 31 walks in 82.1 innings pitched. Keller has struggled recently, allowing five or more earned runs in three of his last four starts made this season.  Mariners.

The Pittsburgh Pirates lineup features second baseman Brandon Lowe and outfielder Bryan Reynolds. Lowe has tallied a .244 batting average, 18 home runs (12th in MLB), 49 RBIs (17th in MLB), 33 walks, 18 doubles and an .834 OPS. Bryan Reynolds has compiled a robust .287 batting average, 49 walks, 11 home runs, 18 doubles and an .884 OPS.

Why the Seattle Mariners will win.

• Offensive balance. Julio Rodriguez and Josh Naylor continue to lead the Seattle Mariners lineup.

Seattle Mariners vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction

In my opinion, this matchup favors the Seattle Mariners. Why? Seattle starting pitcher George Kirby has pitched well recently, allowing three or fewer earned runs in two consecutive starts, while Pittsburgh hurler Mitch Keller has been far more inconsistent, allowing five or more earned runs in three of his last four starts made this season. With that said, I am backing the Seattle Mariners on the moneyline in this game.
