The Cleveland Guardians and the Chicago White Sox will meet Thursday night in an American League playoff matchup at Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois. Let’s take a look at this matchup from a betting perspective.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

The Cleveland Guardians enter Monday’s matchup with an 85-77 record and a 41-40 mark at home. The Guardians arrive at tomorrow night’s game in below average form, losing two of the team’s last three games played this season, including a 3-0 shutout loss to the Chicago White Sox two days ago.

The Guardians will turn to left hander Parker Messick in this game. In 32 starts made in 2026, Messick has compiled a 12-9 win-loss record, a stellar 2.56 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP and 193 strikeouts (15th in MLB) in 186.1 innings pitched. Parker Messick arrives at this contest in good form, allowing one earned run or less in two of his last three starts made this season. Messick will look to build on his recent success on the mound in tomorrow’s matchup with the Chicago White Sox.

Shifting our focus to the Cleveland offense, the Guardians lineup features shortstop Brayan Rocchio and outfielder Chase DeLauter. Rocchio has tallied a .253 batting average, 15 home runs, 73 RBIs and a .705 OPS. DeLauter has tallied a .287 batting average (17th in MLB), 14 home runs and an .820 OPS.

Chicago has compiled 776 runs scored (6th in MLB), 252 doubles, a .236 team batting average and massive 211 home runs which ranks fourth in Major League Baseball.

The White Sox will start left hander Anthony Kay in this contest. In 31 starts made this season, Kay has compiled a 10-9 win-loss record, a 4.44 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP and 129 strikeouts in 158 innings pitched.

The Chicago White Sox lineup features Miguel Vargas and Chase Meidroth. Vargas has compiled 33 home runs (12th in MLB), 93 RBIs and an .837 OPS this season. Chase Meidroth enters this contest with a .276 batting average, 16 home runs and a .765 OPS.
