This week the Marlins played the Houston Astros. Miami came out of that series on the wrong end of a sweep with losses 4-3, 9-1 and 6-3. On Friday versus the Reds in their weekend opener, the Marlins gave up seven runs in the first three innings during a 7-3 loss. Yonny Chirinos managed 5.2 innings with all seven earned as starter.
In the starter role for Saturday it’ll be Edward Cabrera. This year in six starts Cabrera is 1-2 with a 6.84 ERA. Over his 49 career games (47 starts), Cabrera is 14-16 with a 4.32 ERA.
Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview
Over on the Reds’ side, they played four games versus the Colorado Rockies this week. Cincinnati lost 6-5 on Wednesday but otherwise recorded victories 6-0, 12-6 and 8-1 for a series win. On Friday the Reds gave up 11 hits but minimized the damage pretty well. Carson Spiers had 5.0 innings with three earned runs as starter.

Miami Marlins vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with the Reds. Abbott has done well on the mound lately. In his last three starts combined Abbott is 3-0 with just three earned runs in 18.1 total innings. As for Cabrera, he’s given up 10 earned runs over his last 9.2 innings of work.
On Friday the Reds really only had one bad inning (three runs in the fourth) but it didn’t really matter after the hot start. Everybody but Tyler Stephenson (0-for-4) got at least one hit in a great offensive effort. I like Cincinnati to carry that momentum into the weekend.
