For the starter slot on Tuesday the Yankees will go with Carlos Rodon. This year Rodon is 9-6 with a 4.45 ERA in 18 starts. Rodon is 68-60 with a 3.89 ERA in 184 career games (179 starts).

Over on the Rays’ side, they’re coming off a weekend series versus the Texas Rangers. Tampa Bay lost all three of those games 3-0, 4-3 and 13-2 for a sweep. In Sunday’s defeat the Rays’ Zack Littell gave up seven earned on nine hits and a walk in 4.0 innings as starter.

New York Yankees vs Tampa Bay Rays Prediction
I’ll go with the Rays. Pepiot has put up some decent numbers lately despite not getting a victory for a while. Over his last three starts Pepiot has given up five earned in 12.2 innings on eight hits and nine walks. As for Rodon, he’s got 18 earned in his last three starts over 14.0 innings combined, going 0-3 in that time.
The Yankees are flailing right now due to injuries and sour performances. It seems like ages since they’ve won a series. It seems like New York is more apt to continue struggling than they are to turn things around, even against a fairly mediocre Rays squad.
