The Nevada Wolf Pack and the UCLA Bruins meet Saturday in college football action from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Here’s a Nevada vs UCLA prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Nevada vs UCLA pick. We will examine the recent form and player performances for both teams, as well as the recent betting trends and streaks pertaining to this matchup. As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.

Nevada Wolf Pack Betting Preview

The Wolf Pack haven’t been able to stay above the .500 mark this year. Nevada opened up on a 1-3 run with a win over Western Kentucky then lost to Montana State, Middle Tennessee and Air Force. Since then it’s been a 2-1 run though, with a loss to North Dakota State in between wins over UTEP and San Jose State. That gives Nevada a 3-4 record across their first seven outings.

In last weekend’s matchup versus San Jose State, the Wolf Pack managed a first-quarter touchdown and held a slim lead 7-3 at the break. Nevada added three more touchdowns after that and ended up powering out the win 28-13. QB Luke Duncan was 18-of-29 for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Dominic Kelley carried 24 times for 82 yards and a touchdown.

UCLA Bruins Betting Preview

Over on the Bruins’ side, they’ve been on a great run so far. UCLA kicked things off with a win over California in the opener then beat San Diego State, Purdue and Maryland from there. In the last three games the Bruins have dispatched Oregon, Wisconsin and Michigan State. Over seven games thus far that gives UCLA an undefeated 7-0 run.

Matched up against Michigan State last weekend the Bruins fell behind in the first quarter but then responded with two touchdowns of their own for a 14-7 lead. UCLA scored a couple of times in the third quarter on the way to a 28-10 victory. QB Ty Dieffenbach was 18-of-31 for 198 yards and a TD. Anthony Woods had 14 carries for 112 yards and a score.

Nevada vs UCLA Prediction

I’ll just stay with the Bruins. UCLA didn’t have a ton of trouble with Michigan State in their latest win, holding the Spartans to just 11 first downs, 156 total yards and 2-of-11 on third-down tries alongside three takeaways. The Bruins weren’t great on third downs themselves (6-of-16) and had a couple of lost fumbles but outside of that they played well on offense. UCLA has been doing it with defense lately, holding opponents to 15 or fewer points in four straight games.

As for Nevada, they held San Jose State to just nine first downs, 204 total yards and 1-of-14 on third downs in their latest win. The Wolf Pack mustered 324 yards on the other side with 19 first downs and a 50 percent clip (9-of-18) on third downs. Nevada is 2-1 in their last three games with 28 or more points scored in both wins, but this matchup will be a tough hill to climb.

Andrew Jett's Pick: UCLA Bruins -22.5
