UConn vs Michigan Prediction
Michigan has put BTA from the start of the season and what it did to Arizona reminded us just how elite this team can be. I don’t want to step in front of this freight train, especially when Michigan is the more talented team in terms of roster. However, I’ve been blindly backing UConn in the tournament for a few years now and it’s paid off. Dan Hurley is 18-1 ATS and SU in the tournament at UConn. The one failed cover came this year against Furman. The one outright loss was a two-point defeat to the champion Florida Gators. UConn has one tournament loss since March 17, 2023. In its last 30 tournament games, UConn is 25-5 ATS and SU. Since 2011, UConn has been 10-1 ATS and 9-2 SU as an underdog in the tournament.
The Big Ten also hasn’t won a championship in nearly three decades for what it’s worth. We also need to see the status of Yaxel Lendeborg, as ankle injuries are usually worse the next day. Hurley has placed himself in the conversation of the best college basketball coaches of all time, and coaching matters at this stage. There’s a ton of history that proves UConn shows up in these spots time and time again. We’re talking 15 years. Michigan is the better team on paper and it’s steamrolling. I still want the points.
