Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Betting Preview
The Redhawks made huge strides last season, vastly improving on their 9-22 run from the 2023-24 campaign. Southeast Missouri State went a nice 21-12 overall alongside a 15-5 stretch in the Ohio Valley Conference. That would put the Redhawks in first place among the OVC, ahead of SIU Edwardsville by two games. Southeast Missouri State saw a 10-game win streak snapped by Eastern Illinois heading into the postseason, then beat Little Rock in the first game of the OVC Tournament. In the championship however, SEMO took a 69-48 loss to SIU Edwardsville which ended their campaign on March 8.
This year SEMO opened up their run with a road matchup versus Saint Louis. That one didn’t go very well, as the Redhawks were facing a 44-35 deficit after the first half. Southeast Missouri State finished on a 48-32 deficit for a 92-67 loss. Leading the scoring was BJ Ward with 16 points and three assists. Brendan Terry added 14 points with two rebounds, and Braxton Stacker had 12 points with two boards in 30 minutes of work in the defeat.
Missouri Tigers Betting Preview
Over on the Missouri side, they had a pretty solid run in a very difficult conference last year, all things considered. The Tigers managed to go 22-12 overall with a 10-8 stretch in the SEC. That would put Missouri in seventh place behind Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Kentucky—all of whom were ranked nationally. The Tigers went into the postseason on a 1-4 run then beat Mississippi State in the opener of the conference tourney. After a loss to Florida in game two the Tigers got a berth in the NCAA Tournament. That run was short-lived after a First Round loss to Drake on March 20, however.
Missouri has one win in the books this year after taking on Howard in a road matchup this week. The Tigers took a 42-26 edge into the locker room then closed on a 46-41 run on the way to an 88-67 win. Shawn Phillips doubled up as the top scorer, posting 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jayden Stone added 13 points with five rebounds and three assists while Jacob Crews also reached double-digits on 10 points and three boards.

Southeast Missouri State vs Missouri Prediction
I’ll lean toward Missouri but I’m probably not touching this one. The Tigers looked pretty good statistically versus Howard in their opener this year, even though the second half was a bit slow in mop-up time. Missouri shot a nice 55.7 percent from the field and 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from 3-point range but just 10-of-21 (47.6 percent) from the line. The 44-26 rebounding edge and 46-16 advantage in the paint helped offset the 16 turnovers as well.
As for SEMO, they struggled mightily versus Saint Louis in their opener. The Redhawks shot just 35.5 percent from the field and got outmuscled on the boards 52-27. Things certainly aren’t going to get any easier against the Tigers on Friday.
