As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.

Saint Peter’s Peacocks Betting Preview

The Peacocks weren’t able to maintain a .500 record in their first nine games this year, going just 4-5 overall in that time. Saint Peter’s has improved greatly since then however. They took out Centenary NJ, Fairfield, Marist, Merrimack, Quinnipiac, Rider and Iona over the next nine games. In the first 18 games of the season that would give the Peacocks an 11-7 overall run in the books.

On Friday versus Mount St. Mary’s, the Peacocks were trailing by a point 33-32 heading into the locker room. Saint Peter’s woke up in the second half though, hitting a 34-25 run the rest of the way toward a 66-58 victory at home. The Peacocks were led by Brent Bland with 17 points, three assists and two rebounds. both Zaakir Williamson and Bryce Eaton added 10 points apiece as well.

Rider Broncs Betting Preview

Over on the Rider side, they’ve had a rough year so far—to put things mildly. The Broncs won just one of their first 15 games this season. That victory came courtesy of Eastern University PA on November 15; otherwise it was a string of losses until a win over Iona on January 14. After that came losses to Saint Peter’s, Sacred Heart and Mount St. Mary’s in the next three, giving the team a 2-17 record over the first 19 games.

Matched up against Manhattan on Friday, the Broncs looked fairly decent in the first half and went into the locker room on a 45-43 deficit. Rider didn’t end up getting any closer though, failing to close the gap in a 95-90 loss on the road in the end. Zion Cruz was the top team scorer with his 22 points, five rebounds and four assists. Aasim Burton doubled up on 15 points and 11 assists in the loss.

Saint Peter’s vs Rider Prediction

I’ll lean toward Saint Peter’s. The Peacocks had a bit of a listless performance against Mount St. Mary’s this week though, hitting just 35.6 percent from the field with a 34-28 rebounding deficit and a 28-20 disadvantage on points in the paint. To their credit though, Saint Peter’s rallied for the home win thanks to a decent performance at the line (14-of-19 for 73.7 percent) and beyond the arc (10-of-28 for 35.7 percent) alongside just seven turnovers. The Peacocks are a nice 5-1 in the last six games but they’ve been below 70 points in three of the last four.

These teams last met up back on January 17 in a 69-58 home win for the Peacocks. In that one Saint Peter’s shot pretty well from the field (47.5 percent) in that one and had a 42-36 edge on the boards. That said, the Peacocks were just 23.5 percent (4-of-17) from outside and 50 percent (7-of-14) at the line. They were saved by 39.7 percent shooting overall from the Broncs, though. I’d like to see a better effort at the line and on the boards from the Peacocks in this road rematch.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Saint Peter's Peacocks -8
