Rhode Island Rams Betting Preview
The Rams have a couple of losses on their card so far this year, but overall they’re doing pretty well. Rhode Island opened with a 4-1 stretch, taking a lone loss to Tulsa among wins otherwise versus Stetson, Stonehill, Albany and Yale in that time. After another loss to Towson, the Rams have since dispatched Vermont, Temple and Brown in succession. That gives Rhode Island a solid 7-2 run across their first nine outings.
In the Brown game on Tuesday, the Rams came out of the break with a modest two-point advantage. Rhode Island hit a 35-27 run the rest of the way however, resulting in a 66-56 win in the end. Tops in production was Tyler Cochran with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Jahmere Tripp had 17 points with five boards, and Keeyan Itejere added 11 points with four rebounds in the victory effort for the Rams.
Providence Friars Betting Preview
Over on the Friars’ side, they came out of the gate with a 2-2 stretch. The wins in that time were over Holy Cross and Penn; otherwise it was losses to Virginia Tech and Colorado. After wins over New Hampshire and Penn State, the Friars lost to Wisconsin and Florida before another victory over Fairleigh Dickinson in the next game. In nine games so far this year, that gives the Friars a 5-4 overall run.
Matched up against Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday, the Friars came out of the gate on a 52-21 advantage in the first half. Providence scored 42 more points in the second on the way to a 94-64 blowout win. Leading the team in scoring was Jason Edwards with 24 points, three assists and two rebounds. Jaylin Sellers added 21 points with three boards and two assists, while Stefan Vaaks doubled up on 10 points, 10 assists and four rebounds.

Rhode Island vs Providence Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with Rhode Island but you could make a case either way here. The Rams got past a struggling Brown team in their last outing despite shooting a rough 22.2 percent (4-of-18) from outside alongside a slightly better 42.6 percent from the field. Rhode Island had a slim edge 37-35 in rebounding and managed to hold the bears to just 31.3 percent shooting on the other side. The Rams had scored a combined 170 points over the previous two games though, so the 66 points were a bit of a letdown from a production standpoint.
As for Providence, they took care of Fairleigh Dickinson fairly easily in their last game thanks to 58.3 percent shooting from the field and 55.6 percent (15-of-27) from outside. The Friars had a 34-20 advantage in the paint and collected 28 team assists along the way. Providence has been scoring well this year, even amid some tricky matchups; they’ve got 77 or more points in every game so far. This one’s likely to be a higher-scoring affair, and Rhode Island needs to hit the gas offensively.
