I’ll lean toward Southern. There’s not a lot to get excited about here if you’re not a fan of either team, but it should at least be a competitive game. The Jags played pretty well against Texas Southern in their last game, shooting 50.9 percent from the field with 33 rebounds and 38 points in the paint. The free throws (61.8 percent on 21-of-34) and turnovers (12) could have been a bit better but otherwise there’s not much to complain about. Southern had lost five straight with fewer than 70 points in four of those games prior to that victory, so it was much-needed.

As for Prairie View, they shot just 38.6 percent from the field with 16 turnovers and a 33-30 rebounding deficit in their latest loss to Grambling. The Panthers have lost three straight games now but they’ve scored 72 or more points in all of those. Southern is going to have to hit the gas on offense in this one.
