Oral Roberts Golden Eagles Betting Preview

The Eagles have struggled mightily so far this year among a flurry of losses. Oral Roberts has yet to even win consecutive games. After a 2-6 start that featured wins over only Ozark Christian and Haskell alongside losses to Minnesota, Tulsa, Belmont, Ole Miss, Rogers State, and Missouri State, the Eagles got a nice win over Northern Arizona. Oral Roberts has since gone just 2-5 though, beating only Texas A&M-Texarkana and North Dakota. The losses otherwise came versus Idaho State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas City, and North Dakota State, resulting in a rough 5-11 overall record through the first 16 games this year.

In the North Dakota game over the weekend, the Golden Eagles came out of the break sporting a 43-42 edge. Oral Roberts managed to stay in front on a 40-37 run the rest of the way, eventually powering out the win 83-79 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Issac McBride with 28 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. JoJo Moore was close behind with 26 points, six rebounds and two assists alongside three blocks. Darius Robinson added six points and a rebound in 19 minutes on the court off the bench as well.

South Dakota Coyotes Betting Preview

Over on the South Dakota side, they opened their season on a pretty solid run. The Coyotes have hit the skids since late December, though. South Dakota started things out with a 9-4 overall record through their first 13 games. The losses in that time came versus Iowa, Southern Indiana, Nebraska, and Northern Arizona. Otherwise, it was wins over Southern, East Texas A&M, Mount Marty, Dakota Wesleyan, Western Michigan, Randall, Idaho State, Wyoming, and Western Illinois during that time. A 1-4 stretch has commenced over the last five outings, though. South Dakota has a lone win over Denver in that time, with losses otherwise versus Utah Tech, Santa Clara, Kansas City, and St. Thomas MN for a 10-8 overall run this year.

Matched up against the Tommies in their last game, the Coyotes scored a whopping 51 points in the first half but still trailed by nine. South Dakota didn’t end up getting any closer than that, giving up another 59 points in the second for a 119-104 loss. Isaac Bruns topped the team with his 22 points, two rebounds, and three assists, while Chase Forte added 21 points with his boards, two assists, and two steals. Dre Bullock came off the bench for 19 points as well.

I’m going to stay with South Dakota. The Coyotes shot a nice 47.6 percent from the field with a 37-34 rebounding edge in their last matchup versus a pretty good St. Thomas team. Trouble is, South Dakota also gave up a whopping 56.5 percent shooting on the other side. It’s been a good scoring run for pretty much the whole year; South Dakota has hit 77 or more points in every game except one. That said, the Coyotes are still giving up some pretty big points totals to opposing offenses. Oral Roberts should put up a good number themselves here, but I like South Dakota to stay in front during a high-scoring finish.
