The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Ole Miss Rebels meet Saturday in college basketball action from the Pavilion. Here’s a Vanderbilt vs Ole Miss prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Vanderbilt vs Ole Miss pick. We will examine the recent form and player performances for both teams, as well as the recent betting trends and streaks pertaining to this matchup. As we conclude, we will tie it all together with a summary that produces a sensible pick for a favorable betting outcome in this game.

Vanderbilt Commodores Betting Preview

Vanderbilt opened up their season on a stellar run. The Commodores recorded wins in each of their first 16 games, beating the likes of VCU, Saint Mary’s, SMU, Memphis, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Alabama and LSU in that time. Vanderbilt would lose to Texas, Florida and Arkansas after that then beat Mississippi State and Kentucky for an 18-3 run through their first 21 outings.

In the Kentucky game on Tuesday the Commodores jumped out to a dominant 43-23 lead by the break. Vanderbilt kept it going in the second half on a 37-32 run during an 80-55 blowout at home. Leading the way was Tyler Tanner with 19 points, five assists and four rebounds, and Tyler Nickel with 19 points and three boards. Devin McGlockton added 11 points and 12 boards.

Ole Miss Rebels Betting Preview

Over on the Ole Miss side, they kicked things off with a 5-0 run but then lost four straight to flirt with the .500 mark. The Rebels would then hit a 3-3 run with losses to NC State, Oklahoma and Arkansas, then wins over Missouri, Georgia and Mississippi State. After losses to Auburn and Kentucky, Ole Miss is currently 11-9 over their first 20 outings so far this season.

Matched up against Kentucky last Saturday the Rebels were in the locker room sitting on a 29-23 deficit. Ole Miss was outscored 43-40 the rest of the way, so they didn’t end up getting any closer during a 72-63 loss on the road. AJ Storr put up 20 points with four rebounds in the defeat and Malik Dia added 16 points with four rebounds over 21 minutes of action on the floor for the Rebels.

Vanderbilt Commodores @ Ole Miss Rebels Betting Trends: January 31, 2026

Why the Ole Miss Rebels will win

  • Vanderbilt has lost 12 of its last 13 Saturday night road games against the Southeastern Conference.
  • Ole Miss has won six of its last seven games at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss when playing with a rest advantage.
  • Vanderbilt has lost the first half in seven of its last eight Saturday night road games against Conference opponents.

Why the Vanderbilt Commodores will win

  • Vanderbilt has won eight of its last nine night games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Ole Miss has lost 11 of its last 13 home games against AP-ranked opponents.
  • Vanderbilt has won the first half in 21 of its last 23 games as an AP-ranked team against a non-AP-ranked team.

Vanderbilt vs Ole Miss Prediction

I’ll lean toward Vanderbilt. The Commodores cruised right past Kentucky in a home win this week, despite shooting a tepid 40.3 percent from the field. Vanderbilt added 80 percent (20-of-25) from the line though, along with a 41-33 rebounding edge and just eight turnovers. The Commodores have now won consecutive games following that three-game losing streak, and they’ve scored a combined 168 points in that pair.

As for Ole Miss, they were able to hold Kentucky to just 36 percent shooting in their road loss last weekend. Trouble is, the Rebels shot just 32.3 percent from the field themselves in a pretty limp offensive outing. Ole Miss has lost consecutive games now, scoring a combined 129 points in those two. I don’t see them hanging around with Vanderbilt for too long if the Commodores are playing well, even at home.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Vanderbilt Commodores -13.5
