Loyola Ramblers Betting Preview
Over on the Loyola side, they’ve got two games in the bag this year so far as well. The Ramblers opened up on Monday at home versus Cleveland State and had a tight matchup. Loyola was down 51-50 at the half but emerged victorious 91-88 after a 41-37 advantage in the second. Miles Rubin (six rebounds; two assists), Kayde Dotson (three rebounds; four assists) and Deywilk Tavarez (two assists; 14 minutes) each posted 16 points in the winning effort. Joshua Ola-Joseph was also in double-digits with 11 points, and Chuck Love had 14 points with one rebound in 20 minutes.
Loyola took their first loss of the year on Thursday in a home matchup versus Mercyhurst. The Ramblers were trailing by seven at the break and didn’t end up getting any closer in a 73-65 loss after a 39-38 second half. Justin Moore led the way this time with 25 points, eight assists and four rebounds. Rubin added 16 points with seven boards, and Ola-Joseph finished with 13 points, five rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes of work on the floor in the defeat.

North Texas vs Loyola Prediction
I’ll stick with North Texas. The Mean Green are coming off a dominant effort versus an overmatched Northwestern State team and should be brimming with confidence at the moment. North Texas shot a nice 56 percent from the field and 47.6 percent (10-of-21) from 3-point range in that one, but could have been a little better from the line on 14-of-22 (63.6 percent). Still, the 30-17 rebounding edge, 28-14 advantage in the paint, 15 assists and just nine turnovers helped steer the Green to the 27-point victory.
As for Loyola, they shot just 37.7 percent from the field in their loss to Mercyhurst. The Ramblers were outmuscled up front 31-25 in rebounding and 32-24 in points in the paint. the 13 turnovers didn’t help matters, either. The Ramblers have been pretty sluggish through two games so far, and could really use a shot in the proverbial arm. I don’t think they’ll get it here matched up against a 2-0 North Texas team.
