North Florida Ospreys Betting Preview
North Florida has had some good runs so far this year, but as of yet, they haven’t been able to stay above the .500 mark. The Ospreys kicked things off with a 7-4 run over the first 11 outings, taking wins over South Carolina, Charleston Southern, Georgia Tech, Edward Waters, SIU Edwardsville, Warner U, and UNC Greensboro in that time. Losses to UNC Asheville, Florida, Austin Peay, Lipscomb, and Eastern Kentucky followed, then a nice 6-2 run. Those wins came courtesy of Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, Queens U, Stetson, Jacksonville, and Bellarmine. The Ospreys have fallen in three straight since then versus Florida Gulf Coast, North Alabama, and Central Arkansas though, giving them a 13-14 overall run so far.Â
In the Central Arkansas road rematch on Saturday, the Ospreys came into the second half with a 49-32 edge. North Florida gave up that lead, however, and eventually lost in overtime 84-83 during a tough outcome. Leading the team in scoring was Nate Literas with 19 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals for a double-double. Kamrin Oriol came off the bench for 18 points with three rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block in 31 minutes.Â
Stetson Hatters Betting Preview
Over on the Stetson side, they had a decent run going in December and January, but outside of that, it’s been a struggle in the record column. The Hatters opened up on a 2-12 run with losses to Omaha, the Citadel, Oklahoma, Toledo, East Carolina, La Salle, South Florida, Mercer, FIU, LSU, Florida, and Queens U in that time. A much better 5-2 stretch came next with losses to North Alabama and Queens U among wins over West Georgia, Central Arkansas, West Georgia, Eastern Kentucky, and Bellarmine in succession. Since then, however, the Hatters have hit a six-game losing streak. Those losses have been versus North Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, Eastern Kentucky, Lipscomb, and Austin Peay. In total over 27 games so far this year, that gives Stetson a rough 7-20 overall record.Â
In their Saturday game versus Austin Peay, the Hatters were down by seven points going into the second half. Stetson limped to the finish line on a 38-32 deficit and lost 76-63 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Jamie Phillips, who scored 26 points, five rebounds, and one steal. Jordan Wood added 12 points with three rebounds and one assist as the only other player on the team to finish in double-figures.Â

North Florida vs Stetson PredictionÂ
I’m going to stay with North Florida I suppose. Probably not touching this one though, as there’s not a lot to get excited about here. The Ospreys had a bad second half against a struggling Central Arkansas team in their last game, eventually shooting just 37.3 percent from the field with 13 turnovers for 14 Bears points. That makes three straight losses for North Florida, with 83 or more points surrendered in each outing.Â
These teams last saw each other in a 101-100 overtime win at home for the Ospreys back on January 29. North Florida shot well (48.6 percent) but played a very sloppy game with 18 turnovers for 28 Hatters points. If the Ospreys can avoid the mistakes in the road rematch though, they should be okay.Â
