North Carolina Tar Heels Betting Preview
The Tar Heels opened up with a string of wins this year, getting themselves off to a good start in the record column. North Carolina took out Central Arkansas in their opener, then dispatched a great Kansas team in game two. Next was a win over Radford on November 11, then a blowout victory versus North Carolina Central to keep it going. Game five last Tuesday was another win for the Tar Heels, this time 73-61 versus Navy. That would give UNC a clean 5-0 run over their first quintet of appearances.
On Tuesday versus Saint Bonaventure, the Tar Heels had a very modest two-point lead at the break. North Carolina hit a 50-37 run the rest of the way however, leading to an 85-70 victory in the end. Tops in scoring was Henri Veesaar with 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Caleb Wilson put up 20 points and 12 boards. Kyan Evans added 11 points with three assists and two rebounds in 25 minutes of work as well.
Michigan State Spartans Betting Preview
Over on the Michigan State side, they similarly started out on a string of wins this year as well. The Spartans’ first game was an 11-point win versus Colgate, followed by a tight win over Arkansas. Michigan State then beat San Jose State in game three, then got past Kentucky on November 18. In game five the Spartans had no issues with Detroit, rolling to a blowout win and a 5-0 start on the season.
Matched up against East Carolina in Tuesday’s game, the Spartans didn’t have too many issues. Michigan State was up 47-24 by halftime then hit a 42-32 run the rest of the way in an 89-56 win. Jaxon Kohler led the way with 16 points and eight boards. Coen Carr put up 13 points, four rebounds and three assists while Carson Cooper added 10 points with eight rebounds and a pair of assists in 20 minutes on the floor for the Spartans.

North Carolina vs Michigan State Prediction
I’ll likely go with Michigan State, but you could make a case either way. This should be one of the more interesting matchups of the Thursday slate. The Spartans blew right past East Carolina in their last game, notching a cool 50.7 percent from the field with 46.4 percent (13-of-28) from outside, 37 rebounds and a 36-12 advantage on points in the paint. Michigan State has been on a scoring tear this year, with 79 or more points in five of six games. The lone outlier was 69 points in a win over a very good Arkansas team.
As for North Carolina, they had issues shaking off a pesky (and pretty solid) St. Bonaventure squad on Tuesday but eventually finished it off well. The Tar Heels hit 50.9 percent from the field and 8-of-18 (44.4 percent) from outside along with a 36-28 rebounding edge but also held a tie on points in the paint (36-36). UNC is scoring great themselves this season, so we should have a high-flying matchup in store Thursday.
