Nebraska Cornhuskers Betting Preview

The Cornhuskers have played most of the 2024-25 season on a very steady run, although they’ve had some issues over the past few outings. Over on the Maryland side, they entered the year on a very nice run as well, though they’ve also had a choppy stretch over the last five games. The Terrapins lost to only Marquette in their first nine games, otherwise beating Manhattan, Mount St. Mary’s, Florida A&M, Canisius, Villanova, Bucknell, Alcorn State, and Ohio State. After a loss to Purdue, Maryland beat St. Francis PA, Syracuse, and MD Eastern Shore. Since then it’s been a rough 2-3 stretch with wins over UCLA and Minnesota alongside losses to Washington, Oregon, and Northwestern for a 13-5 record so far this season.

Matched up against Northwestern in their Thursday game, the Terrapins came into the locker room with a 38-37 deficit. Maryland managed to force overtime but eventually lost a tough one 76-74 in the end. Leading the team in scoring during the defeat was Julian Reese with 23 points and seven rebounds. I’m going to stick with Maryland. The Terrapins had a pretty rough offensive game versus a decent Northwestern team in their last outing though, so they’ll need a good bounce-back effort here. Maryland shot just 38.1 percent from the field in that one and had 16 turnovers for 19 Wildcats points. The foul shooting (20-of-22) and rebounding (39) were solid, though. The Terrapins have been scoring well all season, with 69 or more points in every game so far.

As for Nebraska, they’re also coming off a rough loss at home to a solid Rutgers squad. The Cornhuskers gave up a ton on defense in that one: 49.3 percent shooting from the field and 41.4 percent (12-of-29) from outside. Nebraska has been below 69 points in four straight games (a 1-3 stretch), and they’ve given up 85 or more points in three straight. Maryland should have a green light to score here if they can take advantage.
