In this article we will formulate a Navy vs Presbyterian prediction for this College Basketball game on Monday, November 3rd at the Templeton Center in Clinton, South Carolina. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Navy Midshipmen Betting Preview

The Navy Midshipmen went 15-19 (10-8) last season and they finished third in the Patriot League standings. Navy opened last year with a 70-63 loss against St. Joe’s, but did bounce back with a win over Harvard in their second game. The Midshipmen started the season playing very poorly, as they were just 5-14 through 18 games, but they turned things around and had a decent season. Navy ended the regular season by winning five of their last six games and took momentum into the conference tournament. The Midshipmen defeated Boston University by a score of 86-78 and Bucknell by a score of 83-77, but lost to American by a score of 74-52 to end the season.

This year, Navy returns a ton of production from last season and they should be very good in the Patriot League. The Midshipmen bring back their top five scorers from last year, which accounted for roughly 53 points per game. Austin Benigni led the team with 18.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, while Jordan Pennick added 10.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.

Presbyterian Blue Hose Betting Preview

The Presbyterian Blue Hose were 14-19 (7-9) last year and they finished fifth in the Big South standings. Presbyterian started the season with an 88-79 loss to Charlotte, but bounced back with a win over a non-D1 team in their second game. The Blue Hose were decent to start the 24-25 season, as they were 8-8 through 16 games, but they really struggled in the middle portion of the schedule. Presbyterian did win five of their last seven regular season games to move up in the conference standings, but lost their first game in the Big South Tournament against Radford by a score of 74-69. The Blue Hose did play in the CBI, but lost to Illinois State by a score of 78-70 in the first round. Presbyterian scored 74.2 points per game, which ranked 162nd in the nation, while they allowed 70.9 points against per game, which was ranked 146th.

This season, Presbyterian has to replace their top two scorers from last year, but they do return Jonah Pierce, who averaged 13.1 points and 7.1 rebounds in limited action. The Blue Hose also lost their fourth and fifth scorers, but return Carl Parrish and Jaylen Peterson, who combined for 13.0 points per game.

Why the Navy Midshipmen will win

  • Navy has won five of its last six games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • Presbyterian has lost eight of its last 10 night games against non-Conference opponents.
  • Navy has won the first half in three of its last four road games.

Matchup/League Facts

  • Presbyterian ranked 42nd among Division 1 teams for three-point percentage last season (36.8%).
  • Presbyterian ranked 42nd among Division 1 teams for opponent field goal attempts per game last season (54.8).

Navy vs Presbyterian Prediction

Navy comes into this season as one of the few teams that returns most of their scoring production, so that should give them a huge advantage early in the year. The Midshipmen also have a bunch of momentum after last year’s strong finish, so I am expecting big things from them. Presbyterian has a lot of work to do to replace their lost production and I think they are going to be below average in the Big South. Take Navy to cover here.
