Kennesaw State Owls Betting Preview
The Owls have had their ups and downs in the record column this year, but they’ve managed to stay above the .500 mark thus far. Kennesaw State went 9-5 over their first 14 outings, taking wins over Toccoa Falls, Bryan TN, Presbyterian, Abilene Christian, Rutgers, Towson, Georgia State, Brewton-Parker, and Jacksonville State in that time. Next came a 5-5 run with losses to Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky, UTEP, Liberty, and Middle Tennessee among wins over Sam Houston, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, FIU, and Western Kentucky. That gave the Owls a 14-10 overall run through their first 24 games of the season.Â
In their Thursday matchup with Louisiana Tech, Kennesaw State jumped out to a dominant 39-23 edge in the first half. The Owls kept it up in the second on a 30-24 run and took the eventual victory easily 69-47 in blowout fashion. Simeon Cottle was the team’s leading scorer with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Jamil Miller added 14 points with six rebounds and one steal, while Adrian Wooley had 12 points with seven boards, seven assists, and two steals in 38 minutes of work.Â
Sam Houston State Bearkats Betting Preview
Over on the Sam Houston side, they didn’t start out too badly this year but they’ve really struggled at getting wins lately. The Bearkats went 7-6 in their first 13 outings, taking wins over Tarleton State, Lamar, Trinity TX, Colgate, Texas Southern, St. Thomas TX, and Dallas. Sam Houston posted just one win over FIU in their next 11 games. The losses otherwise were versus New Mexico State, UTEP, Liberty, Kennesaw State, Jacksonville State, Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky, LA Tech, FIU, and Liberty. That would give the Bearkats an 8-16 record in their first 24 outings of the year.Â
Matched up against Jacksonville State on Thursday, the Bearkats posted a 37-32 run in the second half to finish off a 66-61 victory. Sam Houston’s lead scorer was Lamar Wilkerson with 29 points and four rebounds in 35 minutes of action.Â

Kennesaw State vs Sam Houston State PredictionÂ
I’ll stay with Kennesaw State. The Owls are coming off a nice effort versus a decent LA Tech team, shooting 46.2 percent from the field while holding the opposition to just 34 percent on the other side. Kennesaw State owned the rebounding battle 38-28 and had 16 team assists along the way during a pretty well-rounded victory overall. That makes three wins in the last four games for the Owls. They’ve scored 69 or more points in all four of those outings.Â
These teams last saw each other back on January 16 in a 75-69 overtime win at home for the Owls. In that one Kennesaw State played a pretty miserable game but still managed to pull off the victory. The Owls shot just 38.5 percent from the field with 14 turnovers for 15 Bearkats points. Sam Houston was even worse though, posting just 30.4 percent from the field with 13 turnovers for 14 Owls points. Both teams have a lot to clean up in this rematch. Kennesaw State is the better squad on paper though, so I’m leaning their way for a cover.Â
