The Friars won their first five games of the season, but things really went south once the Atlantis tournament started. After that 5-0 start, Providence only won back to back games twice the rest of the season, and they lost nine of their last ten regular season games. The Friars finished the year with a 75-69 loss to Butler in the Big East Tournament. Providence scored 71.3 points per game, which was 249th, while they allowed 72.5 points against per game, which was ranked 197th. 

This season, Providence has to replace five of their top six scorers from last year, which accounted for about 58 points and 19 rebounds per game. The Friars do return Corey Floyd Jr, who averaged 9.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last year. Providence did bring in some help from the transfer portal, but it could be a slow start.
