The Eagles’ season started out on a 4-1 run. The lone loss was to UNC Wilmington. Otherwise, it was wins over Northern Illinois, Augusta, NC Central, and Winthrop. After a loss to William & Mary the Eagles took a win over West Georgia last weekend.

I’ll lean toward the Bulldogs. Drake handled a pretty solid Vanderbilt team well in their last outing, despite coughing up 20 turnovers in a sloppy overall game (35 total turnovers). The Bulldogs shot 53.7 percent from the floor with a 37-20 rebounding edge and 17 team assists in a solid all-around effort otherwise. Drake has really only had one close call this year (63-61 versus FGCU); every other win has been double-digits.

As for Georgia Southern, they scored just 64 points in their victory over West Georgia on Saturday. It was the first time the Eagles had totaled under 79 points all season, resulting mostly from a rough 38.7 percent shooting from the field and 20 turnovers. That said, I like Georgia Southern to look a little better offensively here; we should have a fairly high total if both teams are on point. Drake should control things the whole way, though.
