Georgetown Hoyas Betting Preview
Georgetown was looking quite good as the calendar flipped over to 2025, but since then it’s been a pretty choppy run. The Hoyas opened things up with a 12-2 run over their first 14 outings, with losses to only Notre Dame and West Virginia. Georgetown would lose to Marquette, UConn, St. John’s, and DePaul in the next four, then hit a 4-4 run with wins over Villanova, Butler, Seton Hall, and Providence amid losses to Providence, St. John’s, Xavier, and Butler. Since then it’s been three losses to Creighton, UConn, and Marquette ahead of a win over Villanova. Through 30 games so far that gives Georgetown a 17-13 overall record.Â
In the Villanova matchup on Tuesday, the Hoyas came out of the break with a 29-29 tie. Georgetown scored another 46 points from there and eked out the tight home win 75-73 in the end. Topping the scorers was Jayden Epps with 20 points, one rebound, one steal, and three assists. Micah Peavy added 19 points with five rebounds and three assists, while Jordan Burks had 14 points with six boards, one assist, and one steal in 32 minutes of action in the win.Â
DePaul Blue Demons Betting Preview
Over on the DePaul side, they had a good initial run out of the gate but have struggled mightily since December began. The Demons won their first seven outings, then fell to Texas Tech, Providence, St. John’s, and Northwestern in the next six. Losses to UConn, Villanova, Seton Hall, Xavier, and Marquette came next, then a win over Georgetown. Since then DePaul’s only wins have come over Seton Hall and Providence. It’s been losses otherwise versus Creighton, Butler, UConn, Villanova, Marquette, Xavier, St. John’s, Butler, and Creighton again in that time. DePaul has a 12-18 overall record across their first 30 outings of the season so far.Â
Matched up against Providence on Wednesday, the Demons posted a 39-28 deficit in the first half. DePaul stormed back from there however, hitting a 52-38 run for an 80-77 comeback victory in the end. CJ Gunn came off the bench to lead the team on 23 points with seven rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes of action. JJ Traynor added 21 points with three rebounds, four steals, and three blocks, while Isaiah Rivera had 11 points with four rebounds in 39 minutes of work on the floor in the victory.Â

Georgetown vs DePaul PredictionÂ
I’m sticking with Georgetown. The Hoyas were able to eke out a win over Villanova in their last game despite getting outmuscled on the boards 34-29. Georgetown hit 44.8 percent from the field in that one with a nice 14-of-31 (45.2 percent) from 3-point range and just six turnovers. It was a much-needed win after three straight losses—two of those coming on the road.Â
Georgetown took a 73-68 home loss the last time these teams met up back on January 17. The Hoyas didn’t shoot all that great in that one (41.5 percent) and gave up 50 percent shooting on the other side. Provided the Hoyas can kick that shooting percentage up a bit here—as well as avoid mistakes with ball control—I like Georgetown to get some revenge in the road rematch on Saturday.Â
