Fresno State Bulldogs Betting Preview
This year the Bulldogs opened up the season on a pretty sketchy 3-2 run—and things would only get worse from there. In that first five-game stretch, Fresno State lost to UC Santa Barbara and CSU Bakersfield with wins otherwise versus Sac State, Prairie View, and Long Beach State. Since then it’s been a pretty rough 1-8 stretch for the Bulldogs. The lone win in that time came courtesy of San Diego on December 14. Otherwise, the losses were versus Washington State, Cal Baptist, San Diego State, Santa Clara, BYU, Cal Baptist again, UNLV, and New Mexico.
Matched up against New Mexico on New Year’s Eve, the Bulldogs came out of the break facing a 53-36 deficit on the scoreboard. Fresno State got better from there on a 53-50 advantage but still lost fairly significantly 103-89. Tops in scoring was Zaon Collins with his 20 points and two assists with two rebounds. Elijah Price managed to double up on 15 points, 11 boards, two assists, and six steals, while Brian Amuneke led the bench players with 15 points in the loss.
Utah State Aggies Betting Preview
Over on the Utah State side, they’ve got just one blemish on the card so far this year in what’s been a pretty darn great start. The Aggies opened with a 10-game win streak over Alcorn State, Charlotte, Westminster UT, Montana, Iowa, St. Bonaventure, North Texas, Wyoming, Utah Tech, and South Florida. After their lone loss 75-73 versus UC San Diego on December 17, Utah State got right back to their winning ways. The Aggies have beaten Saint Mary’s San Diego State and Nevada in that trio of outings for a 13-1 overall record so far.
Matched up against Nevada in their New Year’s Eve game, the Aggies were in trouble with a 33-28 halftime deficit. To their credit, Utah State picked it up in the second half on a 41-31 comeback and took the dramatic win 69-64. Leading the charge was Ian Martinez with 17 points, two rebounds and three assists. Tucker Anderson added 16 points and three assists off the bench, and Mason Falslev had 14 points with six boards, five steals, and five assists.

Fresno State vs Utah State Prediction
I’ll just stay with Utah State, but I’m probably avoiding this one. It’s a really thick line. The Aggies have been playing with fire over the last couple of games, and they nearly lost to Nevada after a slow start and an eventual 14 turnovers for 17 Wolf Pack points. Utah State hit 52.2 percent from the field in the comeback win however, canning 8-of-20 (40 percent) from 3-point range along the way. The Aggies’ last two wins have come by a combined six points, and each of their last four games (a 3-1 run) has been decided by seven points or fewer. Still, this is an easy win on paper for Utah State.
As for the Bulldogs, they didn’t play too badly against New Mexico in their last game—outside of giving up a whopping 58.6 percent shooting from the field and 15 turnovers for 21 Lobos points, that is. Fresno State has 69 or more points in four straight games (a 1-3 run), but they’ve also given up 86 or more in three straight. Utah State should have plenty of room to score in this one.
