The Stags opened up their year on a 1-2 run, taking a win over NJIT in between losses to Penn State and Seton Hall. A three-game win streak came after that with victories over Stonehill, Loyola Maryland and Le Moyne, then a loss to Columbia. Fairfield would finish off the month of November with a win over New Hampshire, giving the team a 5-3 record through the first eight games of the season.
On Friday versus Manhattan, the Stags ended up taking a tough loss 70-66 at Draddy Gymnasium. Fairfield’s leading scorer was Braden Sparks on 22 points, five rebounds and five assists. Declan Wucherpfennig added 15 points with 19 rebounds and three assists, while Halon Rawlins had seven points and two steals off the bench in the losing effort for the Stags.

Fairfield vs Merrimack Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Fairfield but I’m probably not touching this one. The Stags didn’t shoot very well (36 percent) in their latest loss to Manhattan, and only got to the line seven times to the Jaspers’ 21 attempts. The 15 turnovers didn’t help either. The good news is that Fairfield rebounded well (45-35) and didn’t perform terribly in the paint. The 66 points snaps a streak of five straight games with at least 72 points, and Fairfield went 4-1 in that time. If they can hit the 70-point mark here the Stags should be in good shape.
As for the Warriors, they were able to eke past a struggling Rider team in their last game thanks to 46 percent shooting and just eight turnovers. Merrimack was blitzed on the boards 41-19 however, and outscored in the paint 34-24. The Warriors have held opponents to just 126 total points combined over the last two outings, though.
