Drexel Dragons Betting Preview
Drexel has had some nice runs so far this year, but they’ve also had enough losses in between them to see the .500 mark looming not too far away. The Dragons opened up on an 8-4 stretch through 12 outings, losing to Temple, La Salle, Fort Wayne, and Bryant among wins versus Georgian Court, Colgate, Fairfield, Fordham, Chicago State, Penn, Albany, and Howard in that time. Drexel has since gone a spotty 3-4 over their last seven. The wins in that time came versus North Carolina A&T, Stony Brook, and Hofstra. The losses were against Penn State, Campbell, Towson, and Elon otherwise for an 11-8 overall run through 19 games this year.
In the Hofstra matchup on Monday, the Dragons held a 37-26 deficit at the break and were in trouble. Drexel stormed back on a 34-18 run though, securing a 60-55 win in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Cole Hargrove with 15 points, nine boards, and three steals. Yame Butler added 14 points with eight rebounds and two blocks in 33 minutes of work.
Northeastern Huskies Betting Preview
Over on the Huskies’ side, they opened the year on a pretty nice run themselves, but they’ve fallen on hard times as of late and are close to .500 as well. Northeastern beat Boston U, Harvard, Central Connecticut, FIU, Florida Gulf Coast, La Salle, Colgate, and Old Dominion during an 8-3 start. The losses otherwise were versus Princeton, CSU Bakersfield, and Vermont. Northeastern is just 2-6 in their last eight games. The two wins were over Delaware and Stony Brook. It’s been losses to UMass, Northwestern, Hofstra, Towson, UNC Wilmington, and Charleston otherwise during that time for a 10-9 overall run at this point in the season.
Matched up against Charleston on the road Saturday, the Huskies were within two points by halftime. Northeastern kept the pace from there but couldn’t gain any ground in the end during a tough loss 87-85. Rashad King led the team with 22 points, eight boards, and seven assists. Harold Woods added 20 points with nine rebounds and three assists, while JB Frankel chipped in his 12 points, two assists and two rebounds in 37 minutes of time on the court.

Drexel vs Northeastern Prediction
I’m staying with Northeastern. The Huskies have fallen on hard times lately, but the good news is that they’re coming back home for this one following a draining four-game road trip (a 1-3 run). In fact, Northeastern has played seven of the last nine games away from home. Shipping back up to Boston could be just the cure for their ailments on the floor. The Huskies have still maintained a pretty good scoring clip; they’ve notched 70 or more points in four straight games. Northeastern didn’t put in too bad of a performance in their loss to a good Charleston team either. The Huskies posted a 38-29 rebounding edge and shot 51.4 percent from the field. The only major issue was the 10 turnovers for 23 Cougars points.
As for Drexel, they’ve been a pretty tepid scoring team so far this year. The Dragons have been below 69 points in seven of the last eight games. If Northeastern can catch that home mojo and find a nice scoring groove here, I like the Huskies to power it out.
