Boston College Eagles Betting Preview
The Eagles’ season kicked off on a pretty nice run. Boston College won six of their first seven games, with the only blemish coming on November 8 versus VCU. Otherwise, it was wins over the Citadel, Temple, Loyola Maryland, Old Dominion, Missouri State, and Boise State. Boston College hit the skids after that, falling to Dartmouth, South Carolina, Wake Forest, and SMU (alongside a lone victory over Stonehill) in their next five games. Since then the Eagles have recovered somewhat, taking out Fairleigh Dickinson and Miami in their last pair of outings.
In the Miami matchup on New Year’s Day, the Eagles came out of the break with a 41-29 deficit and were in trouble. Boston College stormed back on a 49-27 run in the second half however, resulting in a 78-68 comeback victory. Leading the team in scoring was Chad Venning, who scored 17 points and five rebounds. All five starters finished in double-figures, in fact, including Fred Payne with his 15 points, six boards, and three assists. Joshua Beadle added 13 points, while Elijah Strong had 11 points and four boards. Donald Hand added 10 points with five rebounds.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview
Over on the Georgia Tech side, they didn’t start out so great, notching a middling 4-3 run over their first seven games. The Yellow Jackets took out West Georgia, Texas Southern, Charleston Southern, and Central Arkansas in that span. Otherwise, it was losses to North Florida, Georgia, and Cincinnati. A 1-4 run followed for the Jackets, as they fell to Oklahoma, North Carolina, Northwestern, and Duke alongside a lone win over UMBC. Since then, however, Georgia Tech has recovered with wins over Alabama A&M and Notre Dame for a 7-7 overall record.
In the Notre Dame game on New Year’s Eve, the Yellow Jackets were sitting on a 43-24 advantage by halftime. Georgia Tech closed on a 51-43 deficit in the second half, but still on fairly easily 86-75 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was the duo of Duncan Powell and Javian McCollum, who each came off the bench to provide 21 points apiece and a combined four rebounds with eight assists. Among the starters, the high man was Lance Terry with 14 points, two steals, and two rebounds. Naithan George chipped in 11 points and six assists.

Boston College vs Georgia Tech Prediction
I’ll just stick with Boston College in this one. The Eagles put together a pretty good effort against a struggling Miami team in their last outing, posting 46.4 percent shooting from the field and a 40-33 rebounding edge. Boston College did have 14 turnovers for 14 Hurricanes points in a sloppy effort, though.
Still, that makes 73 or more points in four straight games for the Eagles, with three of those games being victories.
As for Georgia Tech, they slowed down a bit in the second half during their win over Notre Dame but still won fairly easily. The Yellow Jackets shot a nice 56.6 percent from the field in that game and had a 30-29 rebounding edge with just eight turnovers.
The Yellow Jackets really need to score here if they’re going to think about winning. Georgia Tech has fewer than 66 points in each of their last five losses, and 81 or more points in every win so far this year. That said, I don’t think the Jackets will quite get there on Saturday.
