Auburn Tigers Betting Preview
Auburn has been one of the most consistent teams in the nation so far this year. They’ve got just one blemish on the card so far and are looking good overall. The Tigers kicked things off with a nice string of wins over Vermont, Houston, Kent State, North Alabama, Iowa State, North Carolina, and Memphis, then took their lone loss (so far) versus Duke on December 4. Since then Auburn has gotten right back to business with another winning streak. Those have come courtesy of Richmond, Ohio State, Georgia State, Purdue, Monmouth, Missouri, Texas, South Carolina, and Mississippi State in succession for a 16-1 overall record so far this season.
In the Mississippi State matchup on Tuesday, the Tigers came out of halftime sporting a dominant edge 46-27. Auburn didn’t let up much in the second half, cruising on a 42-39 advantage toward an impressive victory 88-66 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Chad Baker-Mazara with 20 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. Denver Jones added 13 points with three assists, and Miles Kelly doubled up on 13 points with 10 rebounds. Chaney Johnson did well also, posting 17 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks in the win.
Georgia Bulldogs Betting Preview
Over on the Bulldogs’ side, they’ve been quite consistent this year themselves. Georgia has yet to record consecutive losses, though they’ve been a bit choppy over their last quartet of outings. The Bulldogs beat Tennessee Tech, Texas Southern, North Florida, Georgia Tech, and Alabama A&M before their first loss to Marquette. Wins over St. John’s, Jacksonville, Notre Dame, Grand Canyon, Buffalo, Charleston Southern, and South Carolina State came next, then another loss to Ole Miss. Over the last three games, Georgia has wins versus Kentucky and Oklahoma ahead of a loss to Tennessee for a 14-3 overall run through their first 17 outings.
Matched up against the Vols on Wednesday, the Bulldogs held a 26-25 edge going into the second half and were looking fairly good. Georgia got blitzed 49-30 the rest of the way though, and ended up losing quite significantly 74-56 in the end. Leading the team in the defeat was Asa Newell with 13 points and five rebounds, while Silas Demary added 12 points with four boards and two steals alongside two assists. Tops off the bench was Dakota Leffew with eight points and two rebounds.

Auburn vs Georgia Prediction
I’m going to take a stab at Georgia. You could certainly argue this one either way, though; it’ll be one of the highlights of the Saturday college basketball slate. The Bulldogs do need a big turnaround following a horrendous second half in their road loss to Tennessee, though. Georgia posted just 37.7 percent shooting overall in that one alongside a 35-29 rebounding deficit and a whopping 19 turnovers for 19 Vols points. The Bulldogs have fewer than 57 points in each of their last two losses (and fewer than 70 in all three this year), so needless to say they’re not going to stay close here if they can’t find some offense.
As for Auburn, they’ve only played three real road games since December 4, and the latest two were each decided by five points or fewer (the other was a loss to Duke). If Georgia can assert themselves on their home court Saturday, I think the Bulldogs can power one out.
