Saint Bonaventure Bonnies Betting Preview
The Bonnies had a rough stretch of games back in January/February, but aside from that they’ve done very well this season in the record column. St. Bonaventure posted six victories in a row before taking a loss to Utah State on November 28, then hit another eight straight wins for a 14-1 run by early January. A 3-8 stretch came next, featuring losses to Saint Louis, La Salle, Duquesne, George Mason, VCU, Loyola, George Washington, and Rhode Island. Since then, however, it’s been consecutive wins over UMass and Duquesne, giving the Bonnies a 19-9 overall run through the first 28 games so far.Â
In the Duquesne home rematch back on Saturday, the Bonnies came out of halftime with a 39-30 edge. St. Bonaventure kept the pace pretty well in the second and ended up with a 70-63 victory by game’s end. The Bonnies’ top scorer was Lajae Jones with 24 points, four rebounds, five steals, and one assist. Melvin Council chipped in with 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists, while Chance Moore had 12 points with four rebounds.Â
Saint Joseph’s Hawks Betting Preview
Over on the Hawks’ side, they’ve had a pretty wild year so far. Saint Joseph’s went 10-4 across their first 14 outings, taking losses to Central Connecticut, Texas, Princeton, and Charleston in that time. Saint Joseph’s would go just 3-5 over the next eight games though, with losses to Saint Louis, Duquesne, VCU, Dayton, and Loyola in that time. Since then the Hawks are rolling along much better on a 4-1 stretch. That loss was versus George Mason; otherwise, it was wins over Saint Louis, La Salle, George Washington, and Richmond. The result so far has been a 17-10 overall run through 27 games so far this year for the Hawks.Â
Matched up against Richmond at home on Saturday, Saint Joseph’s stormed out to a 43-26 halftime edge. The Hawks hit a 36-35 run the rest of the way and took the victory 78-62. Leading the team in scoring was Erik Reynolds with 25 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Rasheer Fleming added 23 points with six boards and two assists. Xzayvier Brown was also in double-digits with 15 points and seven assists with five rebounds.Â

Saint Bonaventure vs Saint Joseph’s PredictionÂ
I’ll lean toward the Hawks here, but you could call it either way. Saint Josephs’ dispatched a struggling Richmond team fairly easily in their last game, shooting a nice 54.9 percent from the field while holding the Spiders to just 37.9 percent on the other side. The Hawks also had a 33-26 rebounding advantage but did cough up 13 turnovers for 17 Spiders points. Saint Joseph’s has been looking pretty good during this 4-1 run, with 75 or more points in each victory (and a one-point road loss to George Mason as the lone blemish).Â
That said, the Bonnies haven’t looked too badly themselves over the last pair (both wins) with 70 points or more in each. I like a competitive matchup most of the way here, with the Hawks powering it out in the end. Should be a good one.Â
