Charlotte 49ers Betting Preview
The 49ers weren’t looking too bad in late December but they’ve struggled since then. Charlotte started out on a 7-5 run with losses to Utah State, LIU, East Tennessee State, Davidson, and Hawaii. Since then, however, the Niners have won just three games. Otherwise, it’s been losses to Charleston, Tulane, Rice, FAU, Tulsa, Wichita State, Memphis, Temple, UAB, Wichita State, FAU, and East Carolina in succession. In total that gives Charlotte a 10-17 overall run through their first 27 games of the 2024-25 campaign.Â
In the matchup with Temple last Wednesday, the 49ers came out of the break sporting a one-point deficit. Charlotte fought through the second half and forced overtime, eventually pulling off the victory 78-72. Nik Graves was the leading team scorer with 23 points, six assists, and four rebounds. Giancarlo Rosado added 15 points with seven boards and four assists. Tops off the bench was Robert Braswell with 11 points, five words and one steal in 24 minutes.Â
Tulane Green Wave Betting Preview
Over on the Tulane side, they’ve been pretty choppy this year but have managed to fend off the .500 mark so far. The Wave opened on a 4-6 run with losses to Furman, New Orleans, Wyoming, Belmont, SE Louisiana, and George Mason. Next came a 6-3 stretch with wins over Southern Miss, Dillard, Charlotte, UTSA, South Florida, and FAU. Since then it’s been a 5-4 run with wins over Rice, Tulsa, UTSA, Rice again and East Carolina mixed with losses to Temple, Memphis, North Texas, and Wichita State in that time. Over 27 games so far this season that gives the Green Wave a 15-12 record overall.Â
Matched up against Wichita State in their road game on Sunday, the Wave held a 31-29 edge going into the second half. Tulane couldn’t hold it from there though, getting outscored 49-36 the rest of the way during a 78-67 loss. Both Gregg Glenn (five rebounds) and Rowan Brumbaugh (five rebounds; three steals; two assists) posted a team-high 18 points apiece. Tops off the bench in the defeat was Mari Jordan with 10 points and four rebounds. Kaleb Banks chipped in 10 points in a starting role as well.Â

Charlotte vs Tulane PredictionÂ
I’ll stay with Tulane here. The Wave had a bad second half in their latest loss on the road versus Wichita State, posting just 21.4 percent (3-of-14) from 3-point range with 10-of-18 (55.6 percent) from the line alongside a 36-30 rebounding deficit. Tulane gave up 50 percent shooting on the other side but did commit just seven turnovers in a pretty well-disciplined outing. The Wave had scored a combined 167 points in their previous pair (both wins), though.Â
These teams last saw each other on New Year’s Eve in a blowout road win 83-68 for Tulane. The Wave shot well (47.4 percent) with just eight turnovers in that one, but did get out-rebounded 39-31. Charlotte also coughed up 17 turnovers for 21 Wave points. I like Tulane to bag another comfortable win here, but they can’t rely on mistakes this time. It’ll have to be a more traditional dominant home effort, but I think the Waves will pull it off.Â
