Central Arkansas Bears Betting Preview
The Bears have had a rough year so far, with only a few scattered wins here and there. Central Arkansas opened on a 5-10 run with victories over only Randall U, UNC Asheville, the Citadel, Southwestern Christian, and Bellarmine. Losses to Stetson, Florida Gulf Coast, North Florida, Jacksonville, Austin Peay, Lipscomb, North Alabama, Queens U, Austin Peay, and Jacksonville came in succession during the next 11 outings, then a 2-1 run with wins over North Florida and West Georgia. That would give the Bears an 8-21 run through the first 29 games this year.Â
In their Monday matchup with North Alabama, Central Arkansas was down 48-35 by the break. The Bears didn’t get any closer on a 45-35 second half and took a blowout loss of 93-70. Leading scorers Cole McCormick and Diogo Seixas (bench) each scored 13 points.Â
Lipscomb Bisons Betting Preview
Over on the Lipscomb side, they started out on a choppy 2-4 run but they’ve been a lot better since then. The Bisons took out Jackson State, Alabama A&M, Chattanooga, Southeast Missouri State, Truett-McConnell, Asbury, Jacksonville, and North Florida in a nine-game span after those opening half-dozen outings. Losses to Queens U, North Alabama, and Eastern Kentucky came in the next seven games, and then Lipscomb hit a 6-1 stretch that featured wins over Bellarmine, West Georgia, Queens U, Stetson, Florida Gulf Coast, and North Alabama. That would give the team a 20-9 run in their first 29 outings.Â
Matched up against Austin Peay on Monday, the Bisons jumped out to a commanding 43-29 lead by the break. Lipscomb kept it up in the second half on a 52-49 run and took the eventual victory 95-78. Leading the team in scoring along the way was Jacob Ognacevic with 28 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Joe Anderson added 21 points with two rebounds and two assists, while Will Pruitt had 15 points with six rebounds and four assists in 34 minutes.Â

- Lipscomb has won the first half in each of its last four home games against the ASUN Conference.
Central Arkansas vs Lipscomb PredictionÂ
I’ll stay with the Bisons here. Lipscomb didn’t have any issues with a middling Austin Peay team in their latest road win on Monday. The Bisons shot a smooth 60.4 percent from the field in that one with a stellar 18-of-28 (64.3 percent) from the 3-point range and 19-of-20 (95 percent) from the line. Lipscomb stayed competitive on the board 25-25 and had just six turnovers total. That makes seven wins in the last eight games for the Bisons. They’ve scored 75 or more points in each of those victories as well, so the offense is humming right now.Â
These teams last saw each other back on January 25 in a 68-55 road win for the Bisons. Lipscomb didn’t shoot spectacularly (41.1 percent from the field and 6-of-34 for 17.6 percent from 3-point range) in that one, and they had a 36-34 rebounding deficit. The Bisons did score 18 points off 13 Bears turnovers though, and held Central Arkansas to just 39.6 percent on the other side. Lipscomb needs a better offensive effort in the home rematch, and I think they’ll get it.Â
