Holy Cross Crusaders Betting Preview
Holy Cross has had some nice runs this year, but they’ve also hit the skids a few times. The team opened on a 9-5 run, taking wins over Sacred Heart, Brown, New Hampshire, Mitchell College, Harvard, Quinnipiac, Siena, Regis, and Loyola Maryland during that time. Since then however, Holy Cross has won just three games over Navy, Loyola MD, and Boston U. Otherwise it’s been losses to American U, Lafayette, Bucknell, American U, Army, Boston U, Lehigh, Army, and Colgate in succession during that stretch. The result so far has been a middling 12-14 overall run for Holy Cross through the first 26 games of the 2024-25 season.Â
In the Colgate game on Wednesday, the Crusaders came out of the break sporting a 38-31 deficit. Holy Cross didn’t get any closer on a 49-34 second half and took the loss in blowout fashion 87-65 in the end. Leading the team in scoring were Max Green (two rebounds; one assist) and DeAndre Williams (five rebounds; five assists), each with 13 points, Caleb Kenney chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a pair of steals as well.Â
Lehigh Mountain Hawks Betting Preview
Over on the Mountain Hawks’ side, they’ve had a good run or two in the books this year but overall it’s been a struggle. Lehigh lost their first four games but then took a solid 6-2 run into January. Those wins came versus Valley Forge, Marist, Monmouth, Long Island U, Neumann, and Bucknell. After losses to Loyola MD, Colgate, Army, Boston U, Loyola MD, and American U in the next six, Lehigh beat Lafayette, Holy Cross, and Colgate (with a loss to Navy) in the next four. It’s been losses to American U and Navy since then, however, which gives the Mountain Hawks a rough 9-15 overall run through 24 outings so far.Â
Matched up against Navy in their road game on Wednesday, Lehigh came out of the locker room with a 26-16 deficit. The Mountain Hawks made a game of it in the second with a 44-37 run but still ended up losing 63-60 in a tough result. Tyler Whitney-Sidney led the way with 17 points and four rebounds, while Joshua Ingram had 14 points with three rebounds.Â

Holy Cross vs Lehigh PredictionÂ
I’m going to stay with Holy Cross. The Crusaders need a good bounce-back effort here following a bad loss to Colgate, though. In that one Holy Cross coughed up 14 turnovers for 22 Raiders points and surrendered 59.3 percent shooting. Offensively the Crusaders weren’t terrible (44.6 percent shooting) but they had little hope of keeping pace with all the mistakes.Â
These teams last met up back on February 1 in a 69-67 home loss for the Crusaders. Holy Cross shot well (46.8 percent) and had a 42-33 rebounding edge in that one but also had 12 turnovers for 12 Hawks points. The Crusaders need to minimize the mistakes in this road rematch while maintaining form on offense. This should be a pretty close matchup but in the end, I think Holy Cross pulls it off. If nothing else it’ll be a fun one to watch at least.Â
